This revelation came shortly after Bonneville attended a co-star's wedding without his wedding ring.</p> <p>A spokesperson for the actor confirmed the separation, stating, "I can confirm that Hugh Bonneville and Lulu Williams have separated," as reported by the <em>UK Sun</em>.</p> <p>Sources close to the situation reveal that the decision to split was initiated by Bonneville himself. New theory in Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness split

<p>Hugh Jackman has publicly addressed his recent separation for the first time since the news surfaced on Friday September 15. Photographed while running errands in the streets of New York, Jackman's ring finger conspicuously lacked a wedding ring. When approached by a photographer about the breakup, he declined to delve into details, simply stating, "It doesn't feel quite right talking about it on the street."</p> <p>The 54-year-old actor did, however, acknowledge the challenging situation with a brief remark, saying, "It's a difficult time," before courteously smiling at the photographer and resuming his errands.</p> <p>His appearance comes in the wake of reports indicating that he was profoundly affected by his split from his wife of 27 years, Deborra-lee Furness. However, some sources suggest that the separation had been a long time coming.</p> <p>The <a href="https://pagesix.com/2023/09/16/hugh-jackman-devastated-over-deborra-lee-furness-marriage-ending/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York Post's Page Six</a> section cited a source close to Jackman who said that he is “devastated” by the split and that he is “very sad".</p> <p>An insider from Broadway, where Jackman returned for "The Music Man" in February 2022, revealed that the breakup wasn't a recent development, sharing, "It happened a while ago. Sickness or health: Healthy life split along gender, education lines

<p>Australians are living and working longer than ever, but the number of healthy years they’re enjoying with this added longevity isn’t shared equally between the sexes, or by those who finished school before Year 12.</p> <div class="copy"> <p>A paper recently <a href="https://doi.org/10.1016/S2468-2667(23)00129-9" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" data-type="URL" data-id="https://doi.org/10.1016/S2468-2667(23)00129-9">published</a> in <em>The Lancet</em> <em>Public Health</em> from the Ageing Futures Institute at the University of New South Wales shows an increase in longevity in Australia. Other data in the publication reveal detail about “healthy years”.</p> <p>Men, and those with higher levels of education, worked about 2 years longer in good health. For women and those with lower education, the years of healthy life expectancy have gone backwards.</p> <p>The report, led by statistician Dr Kim Kiely who is now based at The University of Wollongong, compared representative cohorts of people aged 50-100 who participated in the Household Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia survey (HILDA). Those cohorts were measured over decade long periods – the first from 2001-2010 and the second from 2011-2020.</p> <p>Men added an extra 11 months of healthy life between the cohorts, while women lost a month. Similarly those of any gender who had completed year 12 added about 10 months to their healthy life expectancy, while the same amount of time was lost by those who hadn’t.</p> <p>“Everyone’s increasing their working life expectancy, so the years they’re expected to be working,” Kiely says. “What is different is how long they’re expected to be living in good health: women and people with low education didn’t have an improvement in healthy life expectancy.</p> <p>“Everyone’s also living longer than ever before, but for women, those extra years seem to be years of poor health. People with lower education – they end up going backwards, they’re losing years of healthy life.”</p> <p>Australia’s working life trends are similar to those in Europe and the UK, though this research suggests the Australian labour force works longer in poor health than their antipodean counterparts.</p> <p>Kiely says the findings are important considerations for policymakers pondering questions of retirement and pension ages: the demands of some labour may not be evenly spread when it comes to considering health implications.</p> <p>“We have a pension age that has been rising steadily over the past couple of decades – it’s not rising anymore – but there is a strong expectation for people to be working longer,” Kiely says. “And if that is the case, then we need opportunities for work for mature age, older adults, and those work opportunities have to be suitable for their capacity to work.</p> <p>“We do need to address things like age and gender discrimination in the workforce. And we need to think about how we support people who are unable to work before they reach the pension age.”</p> <p>Kiely is extending his research into how the nature of work in Australia influences these high-level findings. He hopes this can explain why gender and education influence healthy working years.</p> <p>Further drilling down into other subgroups is important, say Dr Marty Lynch and Dr Ross Wilkie from Keele University, UK. They investigated healthy working life expectancy as part of Britain’s Independent State Pension Age Review last year. <p>Leonard DiCaprio fans everywhere are having the last laugh as the famed actor has ended his four-year relationship with model girlfriend Camilla Morrone.</p> <p>Having a track record of exclusively dating women under 25, the 47-year-old ended his relationship quietly, earlier this summer, according to a source close to the couple.</p> <p>DiCaprio and Morrone began dating in 2017 when she was 20 years old, making their awards show debut at the 2020 Oscars.</p> <p>Morrone at the time defended their 23-year age difference, telling the Los Angeles Times in 2019, “There’s so many relationships in Hollywood — and in the history of the world — where people have large age gaps. One side-splitting moment made crowd lose it at Shane Warne’s memorial

<p dir="ltr">Amid feelings of joy and teary despair, there was one moment at Shane Warne’s memorial service that saw the crowd erupt with laughter, per <em><a href="https://www.news.com.au/sport/cricket/moment-that-made-the-crowd-lose-it-at-shane-warnes-memorial/news-story/ae03125ea937033e231e46399634d7c9" target="_blank" rel="noopener">news.com.au</a></em>.</p> <p dir="ltr">A panel of Warnie’s good friends - including former St Kilda player Aaron Hamill - were asked about his fashion choices, including the Peaky Blinders inspired hats he had been wearing in recent years.</p> <p dir="ltr">Hamill explained how the late cricketer’s love of old school hats led to him making an unusual request.</p> <p dir="ltr">“[Shane] said, ‘I’ve got this great idea’, as he always did,” Hamill recalled.</p> <p dir="ltr">Warne decided to email the producers of Peaky Blinders, which follows a family of gangsters in 1900s England, to say that he was a keen fan of the show and ask if he could be on it.</p> <p dir="ltr">“So he did that and he rang me back and said, ‘I got the email back’,” Hamill continued. “I said, ‘Please, read it out to me’.</p> <p dir="ltr">“‘Dear Shane, thanks very much. We love your enthusiasm, but unfortunately porcelain veneers weren’t around in Birmingham in 1931. But we love your support. Thank you very much.’”</p> <p dir="ltr">With many fans likely picturing Warne’s great big smile in their minds, they burst out laughing.</p> <p dir="ltr">“But that’s what he was like,” Hamill said. “He was ambitious. He was driven. He wouldn’t take no for an answer.”</p> <p dir="ltr">The panel, hosted by Andy Lee, attracted the most laughs the whole night, which saw more than 55,000 gather at the MCG while a billion people watched it from around the world.</p> <p dir="ltr">“He would be gobsmacked by this,” footy great Sam Newman said of the memorial while he appeared on the panel alongside cricketer Dimitri Mascarenhas, and comedian and actor Glenn Robbins.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I’ll tell you what, I’m finding it hard to get over, the United Nations are a part of this.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I thought, ‘that is extraordinary. He’s actually infiltrated the United Nations and they are here. That is staggering.’”</p> <p dir="ltr">A United Nations representative spoke earlier in the service of Warne’s involvement with a wildlife conservation initiative called The Lion’s Share. They also announced a new “Shane Warne conservation grant” to “memorialise his service and catalyse more action”.</p> <p dir="ltr">As much as there were laughs during the night, there were also plenty of tears and spine-tingling moments.</p> <p dir="ltr">MC Eddie McGuire read out a letter written by Warne’s brother Jason 30 years ago, in which he predicted the legacy Warne would leave behind.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Now is the time to put everything, and I mean everything, into it and make it work for you,” the letter said.</p> <p dir="ltr">“So, come on, make some more sacrifices and give people the opportunity in 20 years’ time to say ‘Remember Shane Warne. We’ll never get another leggie like him. He was the best spinner Australia ever had’.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Warne’s three children - Summer, Jackson and Brooke - also spoke about their love for their dad and how much they missed him, and fans could be seen wiping away tears.</p> <p dir="ltr">“It has been exactly 26 days since you went to heaven and I miss you more than anything in the whole world,” Summer said, as the first of the three to speak to the crowd.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I’ve had to come to terms with the fact that you won’t be able to walk me down the aisle on my special day. You’re not going to meet your grandchildren that you’re going to have someday, but instead you will be someone I will tell my kids about and how much of an amazing father you were to me. "Not a friendly split": Inside Bill and Melinda Gates' divorce talks

<p>Bill and Melinda Gates reportedly made the decision to divorce several months before they announced it on May 3.</p> <p>The Microsoft founder, 65, and his wife of 27 years announced their split on Monday.</p> <p>Melinda, 56, reportedly rented Calivigny Island in Grenada at a cost of $A160,000 per night to avoid media scrutiny in the wake of the divorce, according to TMZ.</p> <p>The plan was for the couple's three children and Melinda to ride out the media attention into the split at the island.</p> <p>Sources told the outlet that the split was “not friendly”.</p> <p>“First, we’re told this was not a friendly split,” the publication alleged.</p> <p>“We’re told Melinda and most of the family were furious at Bill for various things they claim he had done.</p> <p>“Second… it’s clear this divorce has been a long time in the making.”</p> <p>Bill and Melinda have not spoken in the days since announcing their divorce in twin statements online.</p> <p>“Over the last 27 years, we have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives,” they wrote.</p> <p>“We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives.</p> <p>“We ask for space and privacy for our family as we begin to navigate this new life.”</p> <p>The pair met at Microsoft and began dating in 1987 following a trade fair in New York.</p>

Simon Baker splits with wife of 29 years

<p>Australian actor Simon Baker and his wife Rebecca Rigg have separated after almost 30 years of marriage.</p> <p>The pair quietly split in April 2020 but confirmed the news on Friday.</p> <p>“We remain close friends and our three children will always be the most important focus of our lives,” the pair said in a statement.</p> <p>The two were married for 29 years and share three children - Stella, 27, Claude, 22 and Harry, 19.</p> <p>Baker opened up about his marriage in the past when asked why he and Rigg didn't celebrate wedding anniversaries.</p> <p>“We’ve never really been big on it. Anniversaries, they’re an odd thing, aren’t they?” Baker told<span> </span><a rel="noopener" href="https://people.com/movies/simon-baker-happy-20-year-marriage/" target="_blank">People in 2018</a>.</p> <p>“I think we put too much pressure on it. It’s not like that with us.</p> <p>“We’re a team. Most of the time, 99 per cent of the time, we’re really great friends. Each time he does it, Katie looks a bit sheepish.</p> <p>“My only concern is that Scott’s good with him, which he appears to be. We’ve started speaking and are beginning to chat more and more.</p> <p>“We’ve spoken about some of the bigger things, and Katie knows what my red lines are, and I know hers. So this way, nobody is shocked or surprised.”</p> <p>He added: “Jealousy is so negative. Nearly every other emotion has some benefit but jealousy just sort of makes you stop functioning.</p> <p>“I don’t want to get to the stage when someone mentions Scott’s name and my shoulders tense.</p> <p>“All that matters is what is best for our son.</p> <p>“I will never ever slag off Katie in public. One day, when our son is grown up, he will be reading this and I don’t ever want him to read anything bad about his mother.”</p> <p>The pair have had marital troubles previously, as Katie cheated on Mark while he was away filming US and Australian episodes of <em>The Chase</em>.</p> <p>“I was so unhappy. Mark and I hadn’t been great and he was away working all the time while I looked after our son. I felt so alone," Katie shared.</p> <p>“My friend came over one night and took me out, introducing me to all these new people who became my social group.</p> <p>“Because of our ages, they’re not the sort of people Mark could or would want to hang around with.</p> <p>“I didn’t go out with the purpose of meeting someone. It just ended up that I met someone I clicked with. It went from there.”</p> <p>The pair initially met in 2010 on Facebook and were married 12 months later. </p> <p>Mark has confirmed that the pair haven't discussed divorce yet. </p> <p>“Katie and I haven’t discussed divorce yet. Something rotten in Denmark: More split rumours abound as Princess Mary’s duties ramp up

<p>2019 has been a year indeed for the Danish royal family, and this includes our beloved Aussie Princess Mary. </p> <p>The Tasmanian-born senior royal member has stepped up and taken a number of duties this year after accepting the responsibility of acting monarch in the event of Queen Margrethe’s absence.</p> <p>However, a rumour surrounding the future King and Queen of Denmark has swirled around the couple. </p> <p>Recent rumours have speculated that since Prince Frederik and Princess Mary have appeared on a number of solo appearances lately that point to a potential split between the two. </p> <p>An insider told<span> </span><a rel="noopener" href="https://www.nowtolove.com.au/womansday" target="_blank">Woman’s Day</a><span> </span>there is unrest from the palace and the pair are “spending nights apart”.</p> <p>“It doesn’t bode well for Mary, given there have been a lot of rumours in Denmark that they’re spending nights apart,” the source reportedly said.</p> <p>“The word going around is that he has some kind of bachelor pad close by that he runs off to when things are getting unbearable between them.” </p> <p><span>Both Frederik and Mary were last seen together for a public engagement in Poland in November. Since then, Princess Mary has sent the internet buzzing while undergoing her engagements for a royal tour in Indonesia. </span></p> <p>While she has been visiting local schools, dignitaries and Indonesian royal family members, Prince Frederik has been at home in Denmark with his family and local events. </p> <p>However it is unlikely the couple will ever divorce, as they remain committed parents to their four children, Prince Christian, 13, Princess Isabella, 11, and seven-year-old twins Prince and Princess Josepine. </p> <p>Additionally, it is not the first time the Danish royal family have weathered bitter split rumours. </p> <p>In December 2018, an insider told New Idea that the couple had been going through issues as a result of Princess Mary feeling the strain of royal duties. </p> <p>“There are a lot of rumours of tension between Mary and Fred,” the source said. </p> <p>Thankfully, it seems like the Australian-Denmark love affair that we all fell in love with in 2001 is not to die just yet. </p> <p>Then-commoner Mary met Prince Frederik during the Sydney Olympics in 2000, at Sydney’s Slip Inn.</p> <p>Mary, then an advertising account manager, was 28 years old at the time, while Frederik was 31.</p> <p>They secretly maintained a long distance relationship before going public in 2001, announcing their engagement in 2003.</p> <p>In 2004, they tied the knot, making international headlines.</p>

Why some couples split early after marrying

<p><span>Long before Meghan Markle tied the knot with Prince Harry and became the Duchess of Sussex, she was married to film director Trevor Engelson. Their marriage lasted less than two years, with the couple divorcing in August 2013. </span></p> <p><span>The couple is just one of the many who split early after marrying – Nicolas Cage and Lisa Marie Presley, Kid Rock and Pamela Anderson, Cher and Greg Allman all ended their marriages within months or even days. </span></p> <p><span>Many may be wondering why unions crumble so quickly after taking vows, but a popular wisdom may explain the phenomenon – “the first year of marriage is the hardest”.</span></p> <p><span>According to the 2012 <a href="http://www.australianunity.com.au/health-insurance/sitecore/content/about-us/home/news-and-views/news-folder/first-year-of-marriage-unhappiest">Australian Unity Wellbeing Index</a>, people who had been married for less than a year reported lower levels of wellbeing than people in any other year of marriage. While married people were doing better in terms of well being than those who were single, divorced, separated or widowed, the first year of marriage was found to be the unhappiest. </span></p> <p><span>“One might be tempted to think newly-married couples are blissfully happy and over the years that feeling will gradually abate as they settle into a long life together, but this turns out not to be the case,” said the report’s lead author Dr Melissa Weinberg of Deakin University’s Australian Centre on Quality of Life.</span></p> <p><span>“Big changes occur in the first year of married life, and not all of them are comfortable for newlyweds … it boils down to what I call a wedding hangover, couples building up to the wedding day as the best day of their life, and then finding reality biting as they tote up their wedding bills and get back to work after the honeymoon.”</span></p> <p><span>Relationship therapist Aimee Hartstein said apart from dealing with an “anti-climax post wedding”, newly married couples also need to cope with the pressure of the commitment. “It’s simply different from cohabitation,” Hartstein told <a href="https://www.brides.com/story/the-first-year-of-marriage-is-tough"><em>Brides</em></a>. </span></p> <p><span>“Even though they look like the same thing, with cohabitation there’s always a relatively easy out. With marriage, you have signed a binding contract. You are in a permanent union and the stakes just feel higher. Every fight or disappointment within the marriage may feel more significant and more loaded because this is it.”</span></p> <p><span>Psychologist and relationship expert Sabina Read said couples need to investigate what’s behind their decision to get hitched. “I think some people do have a fantasy that marriage will shift the challenges, and something will change magically because we have made a formal commitment to each other,” Read told the <a href="https://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/life-and-relationships/it-is-confusing-when-a-couple-splits-very-early-after-marrying-20190813-p52gol.html"><em>Sydney Morning Herald</em></a>. </span></p> <p><span>“The fantasy of marriage is still quite strong. But things don’t change because we exchange vows.”</span></p> <p><span>However, Weinberg said couples who manage to survive their first year of marriage are more likely to have higher life satisfaction. “The message for newly married couples is to persevere through that first frantic year, and reap the rewards later.”</span></p>

Spice it up: Indian curried yellow split pea and coconut soup

<p>Korma curry powders are milder than many other Indian spice mixes, so this is a great way to introduce aromatic food to your family. Add less if your loved ones are still getting used to spiciness.</p> <p><strong>Ingredients:</strong></p> <ul> <li>2 tablespoons olive oil</li> <li>2 brown onions, finely diced</li> <li>3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced</li> <li>1 leek, white part only, washed, thinly sliced</li> <li>1 carrot, diced</li> <li>1–3 tablespoons korma curry powder</li> <li>660 g yellow split peas, rinsed</li> <li>2 litres good-quality vegetable stock</li> <li>300 ml coconut milk</li> <li>45 g baby spinach leaves</li> <li>juice of 2 limes, or to taste</li> <li>1 long red chilli, thinly sliced diagonally </li> <li>Greek-style yoghurt and coriander (cilantro) leaves, to serve</li> </ul> <p><strong>Directions:</strong></p> <ol> <li>Heat the olive oil in the insert pan of a slow cooker or a frying pan over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, leek and carrot and sauté for five to seven minutes, or until tender. Add the curry powder and stir for 30 seconds, or until aromatic.</li> <li>Return the insert pan, if using, to the slow cooker, or transfer the vegetable mixture to the slow cooker. Add the split peas and stock. Cover and cook on high for three and a half hours, or until the split peas are very tender.</li> <li>Stir the coconut milk through. Purée the mixture to a rough consistency, using a stick blender, food processor or blender, leaving some of the soup un-puréed if desired. (You may need to add a little extra coconut milk to reach your desired consistency.) Stir in the spinach and lime juice, to taste.
