Princess Eugenie celebrates milestone anniversary

<p>Princess Eugenie has celebrated her fifth wedding anniversary to Jack Brooksbank with a heart-warming throwback video from the big day. </p> <p>Eugenie and Jack got married at St George's Chapel in Windsor on October 12th 2018, with 3,000 people lining the streets to catch a glimpse of the royal wedding. </p> <p>Now, five years on, the Princess has shared a previously unseen glimpse into their big day, along with a more recent candid family portrait.</p> <p>The sweet snap, which is the first public image of the family-of-four together, showed Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson's daughter with her husband and their two children, two-year-old son August and four-month-old son Ernest, posing on a beach.</p> <p>"5 years ago today...," Eugenie captioned the clip, which was set to the song <em>You’ve Got the Love</em> by Florence and the Machine.</p> <blockquote class="instagram-media" style="background: #FFF; Elle Macpherson marks major 20-year milestone

Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell share heart-warming milestone

<p>Bindi Irwin has shared a sweet tribute to her husband Chandler Powell as the couple celebrate an important anniversary. </p> <p>The wildlife warrior couple posted a heartfelt snap to Instagram, celebrating that it had been four years since they got engaged. </p> <p>Bindi said yes when Chandler popped the question in 2019, after the pair met in late 2013 when they were teenagers.</p> <p>Irwin posted a photo to Instagram, showing the couple embracing in front of sunlit bushland.</p> <p>“Exactly four years ago, I said ‘yes’. Ellen DeGeneres shares throwback snap to mark special milestone

<p dir="ltr">Ellen DeGeneres shared a sweet throwback snap of her August 2008 wedding with Portia de Rossi, to mark a very special milestone for LGBTQIA+ love.</p> <p dir="ltr">The 65-year-old comedian took to Instagram to honour the eight anniversary of the Supreme Court legalising same-sex marriages in the United States.</p> <p dir="ltr">"8 years ago today marks an important moment. <p dir="ltr">Bindi Irwin and her family were all smiles on a recent trip to “the most magical place on Earth”, with some of their favourite highlights documented on social media for their fans to enjoy the occasion right along with them.</p> <p dir="ltr">The day was something of a milestone for two-year-old Grace, who was making her first trip to Disneyland alongside Bindi and Chandler. </p> <p dir="ltr">“Our Disney princess visited the most magical place on Earth for the very first time,” Bindi wrote. “My. Heart.”</p> <p dir="ltr">In the clip accompanying the caption, a series of snaps and short videos played out, though two things remained constant throughout - the delight on their faces, and the wonder on young Grace’s.</p> <p dir="ltr">It opened with a sweet family picture in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, a popular location in the centre of the park for capturing the all-important Disney portrait. </p> <p dir="ltr">Next, Grace had been introduced to a bubble wand in her dad’s arms, before the family were captured flying through the air on Disney’s Dumbo The Flying Elephant ride.</p> <p dir="ltr">From there, Grace was pictured exploring the park - on her own feet and from her mum’s embrace - as well as dancing to live music, meeting some iconic Disney characters, hosting her very own princess tea party, and experiencing the wonder of the world famous It’s a Small World attraction. </p> <p dir="ltr">All, it appears, picture perfect items on any Disneyland agenda. </p> <blockquote class="instagram-media" style="background: #FFF; I loved when she was dancing for the musicians,” one fan shared.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Watching Disney through your child’s eyes is simply the best!!” another noted. </p> <p dir="ltr">Meanwhile, some could only marvel at how much Grace and grown, with others simply happy to see Bindi enjoying herself in the world after her <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/health/body/bindi-irwin-breaks-down-on-camera-about-health-condition">difficult health journey</a>. </p> <p dir="ltr">“So glad to see you are feeling so much better that you can enjoy an adventure like Disney,” one wrote. </p> <p dir="ltr">However, another wasn’t quite so sure about the whole “happiest place” side of things, revealing that while their day had looked “amazing”, they had to note “Australia Zoo is one of the most magical places on earth. 90-year-old-with chronic leukaemia skydives for charity

<p>A thrill-seeking 90-year-old has celebrated her birthday - in what some would call an unconventional manner for her age - by skydiving, and raising £5,000 for a homeless charity in the process.</p> <p>Shirley Robinson, from Long Clawson in Leicestershire, jumped out of a plane at 14,000ft for the fundraiser at Skydive Langar in Nottinghamshire.</p> <p>Shirley, who was diagnosed with chronic leukaemia in 2022, raised funds for Crisis, a charity that provides help and support for homeless people.</p> <p>She told <em>BBC News</em>, “It's just wonderful how generous people have been. "40 years ago today": Alan Alda celebrates MASH milestone

<p>Alan Alda has celebrated the 40th anniversary of the iconic <em>M*A*S*H</em> (<em>MASH</em>) season finale. </p> <p>The series, which ran on CBS from 1972 to 1983, totalled an impressive 11 seasons with 251 episodes - all of which Alan Alda appeared in as the memorable Benjamin Franklin 'Hawkeye' Pierce. However, his credits weren’t limited to just acting, with Alda dabbling in some crew work during his time on the show. </p> <p>And it was Alda himself who wrote and directed the series finale, titled ‘Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen’. The episode ran for two-and-a-half hours, set a ratings record that many consider to be near impossible to beat, and reportedly still holds the title of being the most watched scripted television show episode of all time. In the US alone, over 60% of households tuned in to see the lives of the <em>MASH</em> unit change at the end of the Korean War. </p> <p>Now, 40 years after the episode went to air, Alda has looked back on the milestone, taking to Twitter to celebrate. I would gladly give 30 min of any night to watch the magnificent writings &amp; acting of that <em>MASH</em> unit again,” wrote one fan, before going on to thank those involved in the production. </p> <p>“<em>MASH</em> is one of my comfort shows and still brings me joy, laughter, and tears no matter how many times I’ve seen an episode,” said another, “thank you.” </p> <p>“Ended before I was even born, yet it's still one of my all-time favorite shows!” shared one fan too young to have caught the original run, but was thrilled to join in on the reminiscing, “I'm even in the middle of a rewatch at the moment!” </p> <p>“When I was a kid, I watched the show with my dad - usually as an excuse to stay up a little bit later and spend time with him,” someone else shared, “I wouldn't trade that for anything. This past summer, I watched it again with my son. Still perfect.”</p> <p>“It was shown later in the year here in the UK,” one fan told Alda, “my dad recorded it on our newly rented VCR. Meghan Markle shares major milestone for Lilibet

<p>Meghan Markle has shared her daughter Lilibet's latest milestone in the most recent episode of the <em>Archetypes</em> podcast. </p> <p>Speaking with actress Pamela Adlon, the Duchess of Sussex said her days have become "more chaotic" ever since one-year-old Liliet started walking. </p> <p>"Lili has just started walking!" she said proudly. </p> <p>"She's a year and a couple of months old and Archie is just over three years old," Meghan said.</p> <p>"Oh, I'm in the thick of it, toddling."</p> <p>She went on to explain how mornings in the Sussex home are always a "rush", but she relishes in the madness of it all and insists on making breakfast each morning. </p> <p>"I'm sure it'll only get more chaotic as they get older," she said.</p> <p>"For me, it's, you know, both monitors on for the kids to hear them. Always up with Lili, get her downstairs, then a half hour later, Archie's up."</p> <p>"I start doing his lunchbox right before he's up while I have her, getting her a little nibble. My husband's helping me get him downstairs."</p> <p> </p> <p>"I make breakfast for all three of them. It's very important to me. I love doing it - to me, it just feels like the greatest way to start the morning."</p> <p>The Duchess of Sussex admitted it can feel like a "whirlwind" as she feeds their three dogs – Guy, Pula and Mia – and gets Archie off to school but praises Prince Harry for being a "partner" in parenting.</p> <p>As Meghan and her guest spoke about the pressures of motherhood, she said becoming a mother changed her outlook on everything, and how she wants to be a strong role model for her kids.</p> <p>"I first just had Archie, now I'm a mum of a daughter," she said while speaking to Adlon.</p> <p>"And whether I thought it was going to happen or not, it did. I see the world differently through how she is going to see the world and how she is going to look at certain women as role models.</p> <p>"And when I look at a lot of the women that I'm speaking to on this show, you included, I want her to understand that it is not just a box you have to fit into, but you get to be a full-fledged, interesting, curious, kind, strong, all the things, human being. Prince Harry shares major Lilibet milestone

<p>Prince Harry has revealed that 10-month-old Lilibet has taken her first steps. </p> <p>In an exclusive interview with <a href="https://people.com/royals/prince-harry-reveals-lili-took-first-steps/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">People</a>, the Duke of Sussex said his daughter "is trying to keep up with her big brother Archie" and that he is a very "proud papa".</p> <p>While on his trip to The Hague for the Invictus Games, Harry's children are never far from his mind as he said he "can't wait" to one day bring his kids to the Games, and that Archie, who is almost 3-years-old, is already excited at the prospect. </p> <div> <p>"I showed Archie a video of wheelchair basketball and rugby from the Invictus Games in Sydney, and he absolutely loved it," Harry says. </p> </div> <div class="paragraph" style="box-sizing: border-box;"> <p>"I showed him how some were missing legs and explained that some had invisible injuries, too," he continued. "Not because he asked, but because I wanted to tell him. Kids understand so much, and to see it through his eyes was amazing because it's so unfiltered and honest."</p> <p>Since founding the Invictus Games in 2014, Harry's life as changed drastically, mainly with the adventure of fatherhood. </p> <p>"Being a dad certainly adds another emotional layer to it," says Harry. "When I was in the Army, I promised myself I would be out before having a wife and kids, because I couldn't imagine the heartache of being apart for so long during deployment, the risk of possibly getting injured, and the reality that my family's lives could be changed forever if that happened."</p> <p>He adds, "Every member of the Invictus community has experienced varying degrees of these things. I have tremendous respect for what they and their families sacrifice in the name of service."</p> <p>At the opening ceremony of the games on Saturday, he told the crowd of his son's future career aspirations and how he hopes to follow in the footsteps of his father.</p> <div> <p>"When I talk to my son Archie about what he wants to be when he grows up, some days it's an astronaut, other days it's a pilot — a helicopter pilot obviously" Harry said with a laugh.</p> </div> <div> <p>"But what I remind him is that no matter what you want to be when you grow up, it's your character that matters most, and nothing would make his mum and me prouder than to see him have the character of what we see before us today," he continued.</p> <div> <p>"To grow up in a better world," Prince Harry replied. "To grow up in a fairer world, a safer world, a more equal world. It's not going to be easy, but I will never, ever, ever rest until I as a parent have at least tried to make the world a better place for them. Because it is our responsibility that the world is the way that it is now. Handsome young royal set to mark historic milestone

Robert Irwin reaches major career milestone

<p>Robert Irwin has won the Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year People’s Choice Award for an incredible dramatic drone shot of a bushfire.</p> <p>The photograph shows a horrific fire raging near the border of the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve in Cape York, Queensland.</p> <p>Over 55,000 votes were cast in the global competition, and it aims to recognise a photo chosen by the public each year as part of the Natural History Museum’s annual awards.</p> <p>Irwin is a passionate wildlife photographer and often shares his work on his Instagram account,<span> </span><a rel="noopener" href="https://www.instagram.com/robertirwinphotography/?hl=en" target="_blank">@RobertIrwinPhotography.</a></p> <p>The 17-year-old said he was “incredibly excited” to win the award.</p> <p>“I feel it is particularly special for this image to be awarded, not only as a profound personal honour but also as a reminder of our effect on the natural world and our responsibility to care for it,” he said.</p> <p>Over 49,000 images from around the global were submitted for the annual competition.</p> <p>Five images including the snap taken by Robert, were picked as the top favourites.</p> <p>The photographs are set to be displayed in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition when the Natural History Museum in London reopens.</p>

<p>Queen Elizabeth can tuck another special achievement as of January 2020, after becoming the world’s fifth longest reigning monarch.</p> <p>The 93-year-old surpassed the 19th century Emperor of Austria Franz Joseph I - with her time on the throne so far lasting 67 years and 356 days as of January 27, 2020.</p> <p>The record follows the Queen’s other long list of accolades, including her title as the longest-living reigning monarch.</p> <p>Adrian Hilton, a lecturer in politics, philosophy and political theology, took to <a rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://twitter.com/Adrian_Hilton/status/1221353113401155585?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet/" target="_blank">Twitter </a>to announce the news.</p> <p>The expert recognised that the Queen – who officially started her reign on February 6, 1952 – had moved up to fifth place on the list of the world’s longest reigning monarchs.</p> <p>“Just to say, today the Queen moved up a notch in the table of the world’s longest reigns, surpassing that of Franz Joseph I. Proud parents Harry and Meghan reveal Archie's latest milestone

<p>The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared some exciting news regarding their six-month-old son Archie.</p> <p>Archie is crawling.</p> <p>Duchess Meghan shared the exciting news with military families during a surprise visit. The major milestone Roger Federer just achieved at Wimbledon

<p>Roger Federer has obtained his 100th match win at Wimbledon on Thursday morning (AEST), reaching his 13th semi-final at the All England Club and a showdown with long time rival Rafael Nadal.</p> <p>The Swiss star recovered from losing the opening set to defeat Japan’s Kei Nishikori 4-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-4, securing his place in the semi-finals of a grand slam for the 45th  time.</p> <p>The 37-year-old has a number of records under his belt, becoming the first to win a century of matches at one grand slam and also being the oldest man to make the last four of a major since Jimmy Connors at the 1991 US Open.</p> <p>The champion is now preparing to face Nadal at Wimbledon, a match that last occurred in the 2008 final.</p> <p>“We have a lot of information on Rafa and so does he about us. I know people always hype it up in a big way,” said Federer.</p> <p>“They did that again in Paris this year (when Nadal won their semi-final in straight sets). I’d love to play against him here at Wimbledon.</p> <p>“But I go about it like every other match.”</p> <p>The two have met 39 times in their careers but only three of those have been at Wimbledon. The Swiss won their first two encounters in the 2006 and 2007 finals, with Nadal famously triumphing in 2008.</p> <p>According to Federer, he was completely oblivious to the fact that he had become the first player to ever win 100 matches at the same tournament.</p> <p>“A fan told me congratulations on your hundredth win and I thought, ‘Oh yes, you’re right!’” he said.</p> <p>Speaking about the game against Kishikori, Federer mentioned the challenges he was forced to face.</p> <p>“It was difficult. The beginning was brutal. Kei came out and was smashing return winners,” he said.</p> <p>“I had to definitely make some adjustments and stay with him. It was really important for me to get the lead in the second set and protect it.</p> <p>“Usually Kei is a great rhythm player. I just think at the end I served really good. It was a good serving performance today against a great return player.”</p>

Roger Federer robbed of Wimbledon milestone

<p>Roger Federer has been denied the chance to win his 100th career title at Wimbledon next month after losing the Halle Open final in Germany overnight. </p> <p>Defending champion Federer was beaten 7-6 (8-6) 3-6 6-2 by Croatian Borna Coric at the grass court tournament.</p> <p>It was Coric’s first win out of three attempts over Federer, who was appearing in his 12th Halle final.</p> <p>The defeat ends Federer’s 20-match winning streak on grass since last year’s Wimbledon.</p> <p>It also means rival Rafael Nadal will regain his number one world ranking. </p> <p>The 2018 Wimbledon Championships begins on Monday, July 2.</p>
