"Totally insensitive": Kate Middleton slammed for "hypocritical" move

Kate Middleton has come under fire after using a taxpayer-funded helicopter to travel a short distance for an offical royal engagement.

On Monday, the Princess of Wales travelled to the Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton by helicopter, while the journey by car would've taken just under two hours.

She visited the airfield as Commodore-in-Chief of the Fleet Air Arm, an honorary title given to her by King Charles.

After news of her mode of travel hit social media, many were quick to slam her decision to use the helicopter, given the royal family's preaching about protecting the environment against climate change.

Anti-monarchists took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their frustrations with the "hypocrisy".

One person wrote, "She could have gone by car. About two hours from Windsor. But instead flies by helicopter for an entirely pointless visit."

Many others agreed, with one user writing, "What about climate change, didn’t Charlie also use a private jet this week to fly people to meet him .. do what I say, not do what I do."

"While her husband preaches to the rest of us about the environment," another added.

"Ahhh the Uber Helicopter again! And it costs the taxpayer £5,000 [A$9,600] each time!" a third pointed out.

"We pay for their travel so they take advantage!" another user said.

"Use a car, Kate!" someone else begged.

"More climate change hypocrisy," one annoyed user wrote.

"A waste of taxpayers money... not to mention the carbon footprint of her trip," yet another said.

Others labelled the Princess of Wales as "totally insensitive" and "disgusting" for choosing not to drive, given Prince William's dedication to climate change efforts.

The uproar comes after a new poll revealed the British public believes Prince William and Kate need to work harder before they rise to the throne.

A police officer who pulled over a man riding a defective motorbike has been called a hypocrite for having a smooth tyre.

Theo Glibo was stopped by the police officer at a service station in Largs Bay, Adelaide for having an illegal blue light on his motorbike.

The 24-year-old then spotted the officer’s front tyre which was “bald” and questioned why he was being ticketed while the car should also be unroadworthy.

“I’m copping a defect and this cop has a bald tyre and he’s not even gonna defect his own car,” Theo said in his video.

“I’m not going to put a sticker on it for something that’s going to be dealt with tomorrow,” the officer responded.

“Why not? That’s what you’re doing with mine, you’re a hypocrite,” Theo continued.

”If this was anybody else’s tyre, you’d defect it. Where’s the wear bar on that?”

The officer agreed that Theo was right and that he would deal with his tyre when his shift ended.

“You’re absolutely right, so I will defect that when I get back to my office,” the officer said.

Theo’s video went viral to the point that South Australia Police had to release a statement to address the incident.

“South Australia Police are aware of the social media post relating to an interaction between a SAPOL employee and a member of the public where the police vehicle was identified to have a bald tyre,” the statement read.

“SAPOL have taken steps to address this matter.”

Images: TikTok

Piers Morgan slams Prince Harry as “hypocrite” over private jet use

Piers Morgan has slammed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as “hypocrites” after the prince defended their use of private jets.

The prince and his wife Meghan have faced criticism after media reports emerged that they flew privately four times in 11 days this summer.

Prince Harry said “we can all do better” with sustainable travel at a launch of eco-tourism project in Amsterdam on Tuesday.

“I came here by commercial. I spend 99 per cent of my life travelling the world by commercial,” he said.

“Occasionally there needs to be an opportunity based on a unique circumstance to ensure that my family are safe – it’s generally as simple as that.”

Morgan accused the prince of making false statements to defend his travel practices, saying that he has flown on private jets for the majority of his known trips since his wedding to Meghan in May 2018.

“When he was pressed to explain why he uses fuel-guzzling private jets all the time if he cares so much about the environment, Harry point blank lied,” Morgan wrote on his Daily Mail column.

Morgan also said the prince’s safety concerns are “completely bogus” as he noted how Prince William and the late Princess Diana travelled with commercial airlines.

“Did you really accept a free ride on Elton John’s private plane to the South of France last month because you were worried about the safety of your family, or because you just fancied a more luxurious mode of travel?” Morgan wrote.

The TV host argued that the Duke is “fast becoming Hypocrite Harry”.

He wrote, “They want to be the first ‘woke’ royals – using their status as a platform to regularly dictate to us how we should live our lives, whether it’s demanding we stop using social media so much or instructing us to curb our flying – as they themselves bombard us with endless social media posts, and use private jets like taxis.”

Speaking on Good Morning Britain Wednesday morning, Morgan said of the Sussexes: “Nobody wants to hate these two, but they are making themselves look like rank hypocrites and you can’t as a Royal do that.”

A sovereign grant report published in June showed that the royal’s household carbon emissions almost doubled last year due to business travel.
