David Walliams' explosive new claims against BGT bosses

David Walliams has claimed he has suffered suicidal thoughts since being dropped as a judge from Britain's Got Talent, according to court documents.

The explosive claims have been documented in the high-profile case with the UK High Court, which began after Walliams was axed from the popular TV show following a leaking of a hot mic conversation.

The 52-year-old was unknowingly being recorded when he made vile comments about contestants, and was subsequently asked to leave the show after a decade on the judging panel.

Now, Walliams is suing Fremantle Media after they allegedly “recorded, transcribed and retained” private conversations for ten years from Walliams and the other judges on the show.

He alleges they collected private and sensitive details of conversations throughout his time on the family favourite series, and he claims fellow judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon were monitored the same way by production staff.

Walliams, who says he has suffered suicidal thoughts after being cancelled from public life, is seeking £1 million (A$1.9 million) he stood to get from the prime-time ITV show, plus £1.7 million (A$3.25 million) in lost earnings from the last year.

He wants an additional £3.4 million (A$6.5 million) covering future losses over at least the next two years, taking the total to £6.1 million (A$11.65 million).

In addition he is seeking further unspecified damages for psychiatric harm, distress and upset and the loss of control over his private information and legal costs, which sources say could bring the total up to as much as £10 million (A$19 million).

The court documents claim that Walliams was uninvited from an official royal event to read at the Commonwealth Writing Competition with Queen Camilla at Buckingham Palace, after he was dropped from BGT.

He said in that time after he left the show, he has received only one new work booking, having “catastrophic results for his reputation and career”.

Walliams says he is now fighting “active suicidal thoughts” and has “lost the ability to be funny” amid fears that whatever he says or does will be used against him.

In the lengthy court documents, Walliams says the fallout destroyed his “reputation and career” as a comedian, TV personality and children’s author.

Buckingham Palace in ‘total lockdown’ due to 'loud explosion'

Buckingham Palace has been placed under lockdown after a man reportedly threw shotgun cartridges at the royal residence.

International and British media surrounding the palace grounds were evacuated from the area amid the security scare, and a man has since been arrested – with BBC news reporting a controlled explosion was executed by specialists as a precautionary measure.

Initial reports suggested King Charles was in residence during the incident, however, the Washington Post has confirmed he was just nearby with Queen Consort Camilla at Clarence House.

According to the Metropolitan Police, the man was found to be in possession of a suspicious bag and was arrested on suspicion of carrying an offensive weapon.

Speaking to news.com.au workers on the grounds said they heard a “loud bang” around 8pm. They also said the palace was not evacuated but surrounding media outside were cleared from the premises.

The Mall, the street which lines from the palace to Trafalgar Square, is cordoned off from the public. Police are telling people in the area that the road is blocked off for a scheduled coronation rehearsal.

British politician Jacob Rees-Mogg was in the area when the incident occurred and told GB News he was waiting to go on-air to discuss the upcoming coronation.

“People came to us using yellow tabards to say there was an incident and we all had to go. Just an element, of I fear, not ‘keep calm and carry on’ [but] ‘let’s hustle and bustle’.”

Ben Briscoe, GB News’ Head of Programming, also told the program, “There was definitely a very, very loud explosion … As it stands the Palace and the surrounding areas are in total lockdown and it doesn’t look like it is going to be lifted anytime soon.”

The royal standard, which signifies when the monarch is in residence, was not seen above the palace the following day but has since been erected on the roof.

The incident comes as Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was one of the first dignitaries to meet the King ahead of the coronation, with his arrival at the palace on May 2.

It is believed the lockdown has since been lifted as investigations proceed.

Outrage at couple’s explosive gender reveal

Love them or hate them, gender reveals seem primed to stay. While some couples prefer to keep their unborn baby’s gender a surprise for loved ones, others are keen to share the news with the world. And in the age of the internet, many parents-to-be are committed to having the biggest event yet.

One couple has gone viral on TikTok for their reveal, but it hasn’t been the positive affair they’d hoped for, with many slamming them for putting lives in danger with their stunt.

In the clip, the excited pair are standing at sunset with their two daughters in front of a massive sign that lights up to read “oh baby”. Pink and blue balloons surround them all, while Bruno Mars’ ‘Locked Out of Heaven’ plays over the video.

Mere seconds in, the sign erupts with fireworks, pink smoke, and confetti. The couple seem thrilled to have learned they’re expecting another girl, jumping around and cheering with their two young children.

Despite their elation, viewers did not share in their cause for celebration, instead noting the blatant danger of their outrageous display.

“This could have gone wrong on so many levels,” commented one viewer.

“Could have gone so wrong and regret forever,” agreed another.

“Forest fire core,” wrote one, referencing the more recent internet trend of adopting specific style aesthetics and declaring them ‘something-core’.

“Right underneath the very nonflammable eucalyptus trees,” someone else noted.

However, despite the very real risk, some simply enjoyed the spectacle. And in what was a cause for concern for many, a large number of viewers declared their desire to have a reveal just like it.

“If it takes all my life earnings to make my gender reveal like this,” one said, “then I will spend it in an instant.”

“This just motivated me to work harder in life cus this needs to be me,” came one response, among a sea of related comments about the cost of such an event.

Concerns over the couple’s stunt stem from a series of unfortunate results over the years, most notably from a similar incident in 2020, when a gender reveal in California was responsible for a bushfire that claimed 10,000 acres of land. In 2018, another couple’s reveal was the spark behind a 47,000-acre bushfire.

The bad news cycle surrounding such these events has even led to the woman credited with inventing the concept - blogger Jenna Karvunidis - to apologise for it.

Images: TikTok

Bum scare! Hospital evacuated over man with WWI explosive up his backside

A hospital has been evacuated after a senior citizen arrived with a World War One explosive lodged in his rectum.

The 88-year-old presented to the Hospital Sainte Musse in Toulon, France, to have the artillery removed, but instead triggered a "bomb scare" that saw the hospital partially evacuated.

“An emergency occurred from 9pm to 11.30pm on Saturday evening that required the intervention of bomb disposal personnel, the evacuation of adult and paediatric emergencies as well as the diversion of incoming emergencies,” a hospital spokesperson stated.

“We had to manage the risk in a reactive framework,” the rep added. “When in doubt, we took all the precautions.”

Bomb disposal experts at the scene believed there was little chance the bomb would explode inside the patient.

“They reassured us by telling us that it was a collector’s item from the First World War, used by the French military,” the hospital stated.

Stunned doctors subsequently began the process of trying to remove the object, which measured almost 20cm long and more than 5cm wide, from the man’s rectum.

“An apple, a mango, or even a can of shaving foam, we are used to finding unusual objects inserted where they shouldn’t be,” one doctor declared. “But a shell? Never!”

Medics were forced to take the elderly man into surgery, cutting open his abdomen in order to remove the antique relic.

According to the hospital, he is now in “good health” and is expected to make a full recovery from the surgery.

Two years on since the Beirut port explosion

It’s been two years since the devastating port explosion that rocked Lebanon and saw the country slowly become even more poor.

The terrifying explosion killed 218 people, wounded 7,000 and damaged 77,000 apartments, displacing more than 300,000 people in the already struggling country.

Covid was well underway with hospitals already under pressure, but the explosion saw them suddenly overflowing with injured citizens desperate for help.

People are saying that the country’s stay-at-home orders saved lives which would have otherwise seen hundreds of thousands on the roads, at work and at the beach near the exploded port.

But two years on and the residents are still struggling through the worst economic crisis in 30 years.

Electricity runs for an hour a day unless you have a deal with electricity companies, there is also no running water, no bread, no gas, and much more.

And it’s only expected to get worse in winter when temperatures plummet and families struggle to keep their loved ones, particularly the elderly, warm.

Even putting food on the table has become more difficult with grocery prices soaring exponentially – almost 10 times what they were back in 2019. Families are being forced to ration and even resort to basics.

There have been several protests calling for an end to the widespread corruption and tax increases.

Will the politicians listen? Probably not, as this has been a long-running issue for Lebanon.

Despite all this heartache, Lebanon remains the Paris of the Middle East and is likened to a phoenix, a mythical bird that is born again from the ashes of its predecessor.

But what can we do to help Lebanon? Go and visit.

Lebanon’s economy continues to rely on tourism and is a stunning summer/spring destination.

Travellers will be in awe at the beauty of the Middle Eastern country which is constantly bringing Aussie tourists in.

From its capital city Beirut, to Byblos in the seaside of the north of the country, Tyre, also known as Sour (pronounced soor), Harissa and many more it is certainly the place to be.

It comes as the Lebanese Ministry of Tourism launched a tourism campaign to bring in Lebanese expats to come to the country during the 2022 summer season.

The campaign was dubbed “Ahla Bha Talle,” in reference to a song by late and prominent Lebanese singer Sabah.

So in reference to that TikTok video “Yallah come to Lebanon habibi” (Come to Lebanon my love).

Images: Twitter

Awful truth behind explosive Princess Diana interview

The BBC is investigating the tactics used to obtain an interview with the late Princess Diana where she uttered the tragic statement about her marriage to Prince Charles: "There were three of us in this marriage".

The interview between journalist Martin Bashir and Diana aired in 1995 but 25 years on, new evidence suggests that the reporter may have used forged bank statements and other unethical methods to convince Diana to agree to the interview.

The incident is now being properly investigated, but it's complicated as Bashir, 57, is now gravely ill with COVID-19.

Over the weekend, the BBC apologised to Princess Diana's brother Charles Spencer after he brought forward the evidence.

The network admitted that Bashir showed Spencer bank statements doctored by a staff graphic designer. Spencer had alleged that Bashir told his sister “fantastical stories to win her trust” and showed him fake bank records that reportedly helped land Bashir the interview.

Charles said he found a letter sent to him by Bashir that brought up rumours of an affair between Charles and the family nanny.

At the time, Diana was allegedly deeply worried she was being spied on and Bashir's "evidence" made her confident to do the interview.

“There were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded,” Diana said in the interview, referring to Charles’ affair with Camilla Parker Bowles.

Weeks after Diana uttered that sentence, the royals began divorce proceedings.

“Suggesting that mocked-up documents were genuine was wrong then and it’s wrong now; the BBC of today is happy to apologise for this. The BBC’s editorial processes are now even tougher and this would not happen today,” said a statement from a BBC spokesperson sent to the New York Post. “The BBC’s records say that the Princess of Wales said she hadn’t seen the mocked-up documents and they had played no part in her decision to take part in the interview.”

The BBC is now investigating the interview.

“The BBC has apologised. We are happy to repeat that apology. And while this was a quarter of a century ago, we absolutely will investigate – robustly and fairly – substantive new information,” a spokeswoman told Deadline. “We have asked Earl Spencer to share further information with the BBC.

“Unfortunately, we are hampered at the moment by the simple fact that we are unable to discuss any of this with Martin Bashir, as he is seriously unwell. When he is well, we will of course hold an investigation into these new issues.”

Nurse saves three newborn babies in wake of Beirut explosion

Photojournalist Bilal Jawich was on the outskirts of Beirut when the explosion hit, leaving at least 135 dead and thousands injured. Jawich says he followed the smoke until he reached the port of the Lebanese capital.

He went on to explain that “professional intuition” took him to Al Roum hospital, in the Ashrafieh district.

The area has been left devastated by the blast but Jawich says there was a remarkable sight amidst the rubble.

“I was amazed when I saw the nurse holding three newborns,” Jawich said.

“I noticed the nurse’s calm, which contrasted the surrounding atmosphere just one metre away.”

Several dead and injured people lay just nearby, he said.

“However, the nurse looked like she possessed a hidden force that gave her self-control and the ability to save those children,” he said.

“People stand out amidst these violent and dark and evil circumstances and this nurse was up to the task.”

Jawich said the nurse told him later that evening that she was in the maternity ward when the blast hit.

She said she had been knocked unconscious, and when she woke up she “found herself carrying these three children,” he said.

Unfortunately, others in the hospital were not so lucky, as 12 patients, two visitors and four nurses died in the explosion.

George Saad, emergency preparedness and disaster manager for the hospital, says two remain in critical condition.

At least 80 per cent of the hospital has been damaged, along with 50 per cent of its equipment, he said.

Saad told CNN that the babies and their mothers have been transferred to other hospitals.

“I have seen hell today”: Sydney man reports from inside Beirut blast

Scott Morrison has confirmed that one Australian is one of dozens who have died and thousands who have been injured in an explosion in the Lebanese capital of Beirut.

The area has now been declared a “disaster zone” and as of Wednesday morning, Lebanon’s health minister says the death toll has reached 78.

Reuters reports that nearly 4000 people have been seriously injured.

While it has not been made clear why exactly the blast in the city’s port occurred, however Lebanon’s PM says a ticking time bomb of 2750 tonnes of fertiliser fertiliser chemical ammonium nitrate was stored on a Beirut dock that fuelled the “nuclear like” explosion.

Lebanese officials report that the explosive chemicals had been stored there for six years without adequate safeguards.

“It’s my deep regret to inform you that one Australian has been killed in this horrific blast, we obviously can’t confirm details of that at this stage because there’s contacts with families and others,” Mr Morrison said.

“But our hearts go out to all of those in Lebanon and in Beirut in particular at the moment, you can see from the images of the blasts that it’s just absolutely devastating.”

There are 20,000 Australians in Lebanon at any one time, but that number may have significantly decreased because of the COVID pandemic.

The Australian Embassy in Beirut is a short distance from the blast and was damaged, but no staff were seriously injured.

A Sydney man and his 28-year-old daughter were rescued from the explosion when they ran from a café near the port that they were drinking coffee in when they heard the first blast.

“We ran outside to see what was happening. I said to my daughter and friends ‘duck’. I heard something like an aeroplane I thought there was going to be an attack,” he told reporters.

“I saw this big white wave come towards us. The explosion was deafening. Then we heard the buildings collapsing one after another. The noise was deafening.

“The explosion came from the other side of the cafe. The chairs where we were sitting were gone. The tables were gone everything inside was just gone.

“I have seen hell today. People are walking the streets like zombies.

“We are now driving around giving out water and taking pallets of water and medication to the hospitals. They don’t have enough supplies for their staff.”

Reports say the explosion shattered window up to one kilometre away from the blast site.

The eruption was so loud, it could be heard as far away as Cyprus, 200km away in the Mediterranean Sea.

Unbelievable footage as massive explosion rocks Beirut

A large blast in the Lebanese capital of Beirut has killed at least 70 people and injured more than 2,700, the health minister explains.

Videos have quickly gone viral of the incident, which show smoke billowing from a fire and then a mushroom cloud after the blast in the middle of the city.

President Michel Aoun has tweeted that it was "unacceptable" that highly explosive material was stored in a warehouse for six years, with 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate being stored unsafely.

Hospitals are said to be overwhelmed and many buildings have been destroyed.

Terrifying video from a guy driving his car while filming the Beirut explosion...pic.twitter.com/0XpfqCw22L
— Rex Chapman🏇🏼 (@RexChapman) August 4, 2020

Videos taken by shocked residents show a fire raging at the port, which sent up a giant column of smoke. The fire then appeared to catch at a nearby building, which triggered a more massive explosion and sent a cloud of thick smoke and a shock wave over the city.

"It was like a nuclear explosion," said Walid Abdo, a 43-year-old school teacher in the neighbourhood of Gemayzeh near Beirut.

"I saw a fireball and smoke billowing over Beirut. People were screaming and running, bleeding. Balconies were blown off buildings. Glass in high-rise buildings shattered and fell to the street," a witness told Reuters.

Another witness says she saw heavy grey smoke near the port area and then heard an explosion.

"All the downtown area windows are smashed and there are wounded people walking around. There is such a large Lebanese Australian community here and they would be worried about loved ones."

Explosive documentary on Princess Diana set to make William and Harry “very upset and angry”

A new documentary focused on the life of Princess Diana is set to be released soon, but it’s assumed that Prince William and Prince Harry will not be watching, let alone have any involvement in the production.

The four-episode Being Me: Diana is reportedly going to focus on the mental health struggles faced by the late Princess of Wales, her painful childhood and her broken marriage to Prince Charles.

Being Me: Diana will reportedly use never-before-seen footage of Diana’s speeches in 1990-1992 in the final years of her marriage to Prince Charles along with interviews with people close to her.

Endemol Shine, the parent company of production company DSP says that “everything” featured is “already in the public domain”.

Speaking to The Sun, a TV insider revealed that both the royal family and Diana’s Spencer family will refuse to take part in the tell-all documentary that has not yet been commissioned by Netflix.

“William and Harry will be very upset and angry. It’s particularly distressing for Harry because he’s been working with Netflix,” said the insider, referring to Harry’s Thomas the Tank Engine special with the streaming giant.

“At a time when the royals have been dealt a blow with Harry and Meghan leaving, the timing is not good.”

Since their mother’s tragic passing, both her sons have been advocates of mental health.

After chatting with Maddy Austin who was diagnosed with anorexia and revealed that Diana’s openness about her eating disorder helped her, Prince William said: “We need to be matter-of-fact about it, and not hide it in the dark where it festers.”

The Duke of Cambridge added that he was “absolutely” proud of his mother for speaking out about her struggles with bulimia that Diana herself referred to as a “secret disease”.

“There are illnesses. Mental health needs to be taken as seriously as physical health.”

Although both the princes have taken part in documentaries relating to their mother in the past, both have also slammed the media – particularly tabloids – for the treatment their mother and respective wives have received.

“I will not be bullied into playing a game that killed my mum,” said Harry before the lawsuit he and Duchess Meghan filed.

“Everything that she went through and what happened to her is incredibly raw every single day, and that is not being me being paranoid.

“That is just me not wanting a repeat of the past.”

“I was trafficked to Prince Andrew”: Jeffrey Epstein’s victim comes out with explosive claims

The extent of billionaire Jeffrey Epstein’s international sex-trafficking ring has been exposed in a 60 Minutes investigation, after intense allegations came out against some of the world’s most rich and powerful people – extending all the way to the British Royal family.

In the exclusive episode, those who managed to escape Epstein’s dark and insidious world exposed the entire plot that they fell victim to – and named the elite abusers they want brought to justice.

At just 17-years-old, Virginia Roberts Giuffre was lured into Epstein’s sex trafficking ring and came face-to-face with her abuser: Prince Andrew, the Duke of York.

Prince Andrew has denied all allegations and said he had no knowledge of Epstein’s activities and was not involved in his sex ring.

But Virginia stands by her claims and says that she has undeniable evidence to prove that the sexual encounter occurred – a disturbing photo taken only moments before she was first trafficked to Andrew.

The photograph in question was taken in 2001 and shows the Prince with his arms around the then 17-year-old Virginia in London. But despite Virginia insisting the photo is real, Prince Andrew has claimed that it’s fake.

“That is Andrew, this is a real photo,” Virginia told 60 Minutes reporter Tara Brown.

“[The] photo has been verified as an original and it’s been given to the FBI, and they’ve never contested that it’s a fake. I know it’s real.”

According to Virginia, she was trafficked to Prince Andrew three times – first at a party in London, again in Jeffrey’s New York mansion and finally on Epstein’s private island in the Caribbean, where she spoke about the eight other women who were stuck in the same situation as her.

“There were a lot of younger girls with us,” she told Brown.

“You’re not even acknowledged as being alive or there, or important or cared for, or worried about in any way. None of those human emotions were attached to me when I was trafficked to Prince Andrew.”

Epstein would lure young, impressionable women with the promise of a better life, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

In a perverted pyramid scheme, where he and co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell would recruit girls as young as 12 and abuse them, the victims would be forced to have sex with Epstein’s wealthy associates.

“I was trafficked to other billionaires, I was trafficked to politicians, professors even royalty,” she told 60 Minutes.

“It was the elite of the world. It was the people who run the world. It was the most powerful people in the world.”

Now she’s working alongside lawyer David Boeis to hold Prince Andrew and the other alleged perpetrators accountable for their actions.
