Marvel star ties the knot in super secret ceremony

"We love each other": Mayor marries reptile in stunning ceremony

<p dir="ltr">Love comes when you least expect it and for one mayor in the small town of San Pedro Huamelula, Mexico, his match caiman he never looked back.</p> <p dir="ltr">Victor Hugo Sosa, the mayor of the town has said “I do” to his “princess girl”, a caiman named Alicia Adriana, and his wedding speech is one for the books.</p> <p dir="ltr">'I accept responsibility because we love each other. That is what is important. You can't have a marriage without love... I yield to marriage with the princess girl,' he vowed.</p> <p dir="ltr">Onlookers clapped and danced in celebration as the mayor kissed and embraced his new bride who was dressed in a white gown and veil.</p> <p dir="ltr">The ceremony is part of a 230-year tradition which symbolises the joining of humans with the divine, as she is thought to be a deity representing mother earth.</p> <p dir="ltr">It also commemorates the day when two Indigenous groups came to peace- with the marriage between a Chontal king, now represented by the mayor, and a princess girl of the Huave Indigenous group, now represented by the female alligator.</p> <p dir="ltr">The age-old ritual involves the reptile being taken house to house before the wedding so that residents can take their turn dancing with it.</p> <p dir="ltr">She is later on changed into her wedding dress, which Olivia Perez was in charge of during this ceremony.</p> <p dir="ltr">"For us, the crocodile is important because she is the princess who comes to bring us water, a good harvest, rains, so that God the Almighty Father sends us food, fish, corn, the harvest," she said.</p> <p dir="ltr">After the wedding, the mayor dances with his bride to traditional music.</p> <p dir="ltr">Local fishermen would also take part in the ritual and toss their nets on the ground in hopes that their marriage would bring “'good fishing, so that there is prosperity, equilibrium and ways to live in peace.”</p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Images: Getty, Oaxaca Informa10 Twitter</em></p>

Bavarian Prince’s bride faints during royal wedding ceremony

<p dir="ltr">Prince Ludwig of Bavaria, 40, has tied the knot with his Dutch-Canadian fiancée Sophie Evekink, 33, in a lavish wedding ceremony at the Theatine Church in Munich on Saturday.</p> <p dir="ltr">But according to a German royal writer, it didn't go as seamlessly as expected.</p> <p dir="ltr">"A spokesperson confirmed that Princess Sophie fainted during the wedding this morning. After a drink she was fine again and the ceremony continued,” reported the royal writer.</p> <p dir="ltr">"The bride fell backwards, the groom caught her. The maid of honours rushed over, paramedics brought her water. She felt well again straight away. And he said, 'Yeah. Who are you anyway?'" she recalled. "And then people, they were sitting around the bar, they said, 'Oh, do you know who that is?' I said no. 'Oh, that's Leo Sayer.' I knew his songs, I realized after, but I didn't know who he was.”</p> <p>Sayer said he was instantly struck by his wife-to-be and returned to the restaurant daily so he could ask her out. Little did he know, she was on vacation at the time, so he left her an office full of flowers.</p> <p>"It was love at first sight for me," he said. "She's just this lovely glowing light in my life.”</p> <p>The couple admitted that they have separated throughout their long relationship, "We've not had an exactly normal relationship," Piccinetti said. The pair shared that there was always something between them that kept them coming back to each other.</p> <p>"This connection was always there,” Piccinetti told the podcast. Rod Stewart’s secret ceremony

<p>Sir Rod Stewart and his wife Penny Lancaster have shared in a secret ceremony down under.</p> <p>As busy as he was entertaining the masses, the British rocker, 78, found the time to renew his vows with his model wife, 52, for a second time.</p> <p>According to <em>Women’s Day</em>, the vow renewal took place during their time in Sydney.</p> <p>The lovebirds arrived in Australia in early March 2023 to kick off Stewart’s tour where he wowed the nation with a string of performances.</p> <p>Stewart and Lancaster managed to sneak off to a special ceremony accompanied by their sons Alistair, 17, Aiden, 12 and their 18-year-old niece Raphaella.</p> <p>Rod “spaced out his tour” so that their sons could attend the vow renewal, <em>Woman’s Day</em> claimed.</p> <p>According to an insider the pair had plans to renew their vows for a while but held off until this year.</p> <p>They celebrated the special day afterwards at dinner with Aussie TV presenter Richard Wilkins.</p> <p>The insider, a friend close to the family, said, “There’s a very good reason why Rod’s insisted he space out his tour dates – it’s the perfect place and the perfect time to renew their wedding vows.</p> <p>“Now they can’t wait and are using this chance to do something special while here.</p> <p>“Penny and Rod love being in love.</p> <p>“They think there’s something fun about celebrating their vows in different locations around the world, so why not do it all again in Sydney!”</p> <p>Stewart and Lancaster first met after she offered to take photos of him during one of his tours in 1999.</p> <p>The 52-year-old had recently made the switch from modelling to photography just a few years before meeting him.</p> <p>The couple tied the knot eight years later at a beautiful ceremony in Portofino, Italy.</p> <p>They continued the love-fest during their lavish honeymoon in a yacht at the same location.</p> <p>The pair first renewed their vows on their 10th wedding anniversary in 2017.</p> <p>They share two kids together, while Stewart shares his eldest child Sarah with his ex Susannah Boffey.</p> <p>The singer also has a daughter Ruby with his ex-girlfriend Kelly Emberg and Renee and Liam were born while he was married to his ex-wife Rachel Hunter.</p> <p>His daughter Kimberely and his son Sean were born during his marriage to ex-wife Alana Stewart.</p> <p><em>Image credit: Instagram</em></p>

“This is heaven”: New details from JLo as she describes wedding to Ben Affleck

<p dir="ltr">Jennifer Lopez has finally revealed the romantic details of her wedding to Ben Affleck after the newlyweds married in a beautiful three day ceremony which she described as “heaven”. </p> <p dir="ltr">"This is heaven. Right Here. We're in it now," JLo wrote in her third letter, OnTheJLo, since the pair said their vows in an intimate ceremony in Vegas on July 17, just three months after being engaged (for the second time).</p> <p dir="ltr">Those words were written by Affleck for the film <em>Live by Night</em>, which he also directed, and one he said again on the evening of their wedding reception.</p> <p dir="ltr">“He also said it the night of our wedding reception in his speech, and I thought...how perfect.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Affleck first proposed to Lopez, now known as Mrs Jennifer Lynn Affleck, 20 years ago. </p> <p dir="ltr">The singer had previously shared stunning images of the <a href="https://oversixty.com.au/lifestyle/beauty-style/finally-jlo-shares-pics-of-her-three-stunning-wedding-dresses" target="_blank" rel="noopener">three wedding dresses</a> which are each estimated to cost around the $1 million mark.</p> <p dir="ltr">Now her third newsletter since saying “I do”, JLo has revealed that “this was perfect timing” for the pair to get married. </p> <p dir="ltr">“Nothing ever felt more right to me, and I knew we were finally ‘settling down’ in a way you can only do when you understand loss and joy and you are battle tested enough to never take the important things for granted or let the silly insignificant nuisances of the day get in the way of embracing every precious moment,” she wrote.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We find ourselves in that long-desired time of life: having gratitude for all that life has shown us, even its trials and tribulations. That night really was heaven.”</p> <p dir="ltr">She said guests were worried because of the unsettling weather with thunder and lightning occurring every night of the week, and on top of that people caught a stomach bug. </p> <p dir="ltr">“The truth is, I never had one doubt. All week I felt the calm and easy certainty that we were in God’s hands,” JLo wrote.</p> <p dir="ltr">But on August 20, the sun shone on the love birds with JLo happy that after all these years she was celebrating her marriage to a man she truly loved. </p> <p dir="ltr">“The twenty years between those dreams of youth and the adult world of love and family we embraced that day, brought more to this marriage than either of us ever could have imagine,” she wrote.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We weren’t only marrying one another; we were marrying these children into a new family. </p> <p dir="ltr">“They were the only people we asked to stand up for us in our wedding party. To our great honor and joy, each one did.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Twenty years ago, when they were meant to get married, they spoke about Marc Cohn’s ‘True Companion' as the perfect wedding love song.</p> <p dir="ltr">The song began to play after the last child walked down the aisle with JLo describing it as “a song we first listened to together what seemed both like yesterday and forever ago — and life came, strangely, beautifully, mysteriously, divinely full-circle.”</p> <p dir="ltr">“Later Ben told me that the chords of the song and seeing Marc Cohn both shocked him and allowed him to feel the way both roads we had walked found their way, inevitably, inexorably, and perfectly together. </p> <p dir="ltr">“And when he saw me appear at the top of the stairs that moment it both made absolute sense while seeming still impossibly hard to believe, like the best dream, where all you want is never to awaken. </p> <p dir="ltr">“I would have had many of the same thoughts probably had I not been focusing so hard on not tripping over my dress, but when I got close enough to see his face, it made the same wonderful sense to me. </p> <p dir="ltr">“Some old wounds were healed that day and the weight of the past finally lifted off our shoulders. Full-circle — and not at all the way we planned it. Better.”</p> <p dir="ltr">After the reception, the newlyweds finally shared a “yummy brunch by the lake” before she signed off wishing everyone to find the same love she has. </p> <p dir="ltr">“Years ago, we had no idea the road ahead would mean navigating so many labyrinths and hold so many surprises, blessings, and delights,” she continued.</p> <p dir="ltr">“It all culminated in this moment, one of the most perfect of our lives. Prince Charles, Duran Duran and a giant bull: All the highlights of the Comm Games Opening Ceremony

<p>The 2022 Commonwealth Games are officially underway, after the impressive opening ceremony kicked off on Thursday evening. </p> <p>The extravagant ceremony captivated the attention of local and international fans, with TV viewers around the word tuning in to the Birmingham event. </p> <p>Prince Charles arrived at the Alexander Stadium in style, driving the same Aston Martin the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge famously left Buckingham Palace in on their wedding day.</p> <p>The Prince of Wales drove his luxury, vintage car out onto the arena before a display where several motor vehicles combined to form a perfect Union Jack on the arena surface.</p> <p>The ceremony celebrated aspects of the rich history and culture of Birmingham, with a 10 metre tall mechanical "Raging Bull" being waltzed into the stadium. </p> <p>The Bull Ring is a major shopping district in the city, which also features a sculpture of a bull, while the mascot for these Commonwealth Games is Perry the Bull.</p> <p>Female chain makers dragged the bull into the stadium, representing the chains used during the slave trade. </p> <p>The bull then broke free of those chains — symbolising the abolition of the slave trade and the 1910 wage strike that paved the way for women to break free from poverty.</p> <p>Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai addressed the audience early in the ceremony, sharing a heartfelt message about how Birmingham became her home and welcomed her family.</p> <p>Musical act Duran Duran, who began their career in Birmingham, closed the ceremony as they belted out fan favourite tracks such as <em>Save A Prayer</em>, <em>Planet Earth</em> and <em>Ordinary World</em>.</p> <p>The Commonwealth Games will run until August 8th, with 72 countries competing in 19 sports over the 11-day event. </p> <p><em>Image credits: Getty Images</em></p>

I just wanted to wait until the officiant finished his speech," she wrote on Instagram.</p> <p dir="ltr">"I also knew that my husband would have told me I was crazy for not stopping the ceremony if I hadn't done it."</p> <p dir="ltr">Becky shared the hilarious footage to <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@jetsetbecks/video/7094252391272320258?is_copy_url=1&amp;is_from_webapp=v1&amp;lang=en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TikTok</a> which shows her looking behind at her wedding planner and mouthing something while also pointing to her waist.</p> <p dir="ltr">The officiant stopped talking when she grabbed the microphone saying: “Pause for a moment…I just realised when I got to the end of the aisle that I'm missing half my dress.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Maybe I could put it on now?” she asked the laughing audience. </p> <p dir="ltr">"I'm not kidding, two nights ago I had a dream that I did this, that I walked down the aisle without it."</p> <p dir="ltr">The video then cuts to show the wedding planner rushing down the aisle with the missing half of the dress and assisting Becky to put it on.</p> <p dir="ltr">The video has been viewed more than 28 million times and received a whopping four million likes. </p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Images: TikTok</em></p>

From wedding bells to wedding bills

<p dir="ltr">Your wedding day is one of the happiest days of your life, but that is short lived not long after saying “I do”. </p> <p dir="ltr">Psychologists from Denver University tracked 168 people before and after they got married to prove their hypothesis where individuals who transition to marriage would report increases in general health.</p> <p dir="ltr">However, they could not prove their hypothesis with the physical and mental wellbeing only increasing before the wedding and takes a dip after the ceremony. </p> <p dir="ltr">Newlyweds also reported lower life satisfaction, higher levels of psychological distress as well as an increase in alcohol consumption. </p> <p dir="ltr">The findings were published in the Journal of Family Psychology but could not clearly explain it.</p> <p dir="ltr">Could possibly be from the huge wedding bill? Who’s to say. </p> <p dir="ltr">It did note that couples were extremely excited in the lead up to the wedding, to have all their close family and friends, to celebrate love which helps increase the physical and mental wellbeing.</p> <p dir="ltr">When the wedding is over, everyone goes their separate way and reality hits, all we know is that it takes two to tango and make the relationship work and support each other. </p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Image: Shutterstock</em></p>

John Travolta's son adopts puppy from the Oscars ceremony

Dr Harry Cooper marries partner in sweet ceremony

<p dir="ltr">Dr Harry Cooper, best known for his time on <em>Better Homes and Gardens</em>, has married his long-term partner, Susan “Suze” Sheeran, in a ceremony ten years in the making.</p> <p dir="ltr">The couple shared exclusive photos of their special day with <em>Woman’s Day</em>, telling the publication it was a day they waited their whole lives for.</p> <p dir="ltr">“It was a magical day and I wouldn’t change a thing!” Sheeran told the publication.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I’ve waited all my life for this bloke … he’s a real genuine person - what you see is what you get.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Cooper and Sheeran tied the knot at their 125-acre property in Port Macquarie earlier this month, with just 42 of their closest friends and family joining them for the intimate ceremony.</p> <p dir="ltr">Sheeran glowed in her white lace gown, with Cooper complementing her look with his cream two-piece suit and panama hat and a four-legged friend joining them for the ceremony.</p> <p dir="ltr">“It was Suze’s idea to have Wendy in the wedding, our 12-year-old black Australian stock horse mare, as our ring-bearer,” Cooper explained.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We got Wendy at Christmas time for her to ride.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Sheeran added: “She was dressed up in roses … it was just wonderful.”</p> <p dir="ltr">The <em>Better Homes and Gardens</em> vet admitted he teared up when he saw his bride coming down the aisle.</p> <p dir="ltr">“She was just stunning … I’m all choked up just thinking about it,” he told <em>Woman’s Day</em>.</p> <p dir="ltr">The 78-year-old also recalled the moment he first laid eyes on Sheeran, saying it was love at first sight when they met at a friend’s backyard barbecue.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I saw a blonde lady sitting down at the end of the table … and I thought she was so good looking,” Cooper said cheekily.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Our friends disappeared swimming and we weren’t prepared for that, so we got talking and had a lot in common.</p> <p dir="ltr">“She’s very caring, she’s so hardworking and I’m so lucky to call myself her husband.”</p> <p dir="ltr">“We just connected - we clicked straight away,” Sheeran added.</p> <p dir="ltr">To see more photos from the couple’s wedding and their exclusive interview, you can read the full <em>Woman’s Day</em> story <a href="https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/celeb-news/dr-harry-cooper-surprise-wedding-exclusive-71463" target="_blank" rel="noopener">here</a>.</p> <p><span id="docs-internal-guid-dd637b07-7fff-d132-4d66-5a4f104d5055"></span></p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Images: Matt Jorgensen Wedding Photography (Woman’s Day)</em></p>

Raise a glass: Warne farewelled in intimate ceremony

<p dir="ltr">Cricketing legend Shane Warne has been farewelled by his closest friends and family in a private ceremony at the grounds of his favourite footy club.</p> <p dir="ltr">Around 80 gathered at St Kilda Football Club on Sunday, with guests encouraged to don St Kilda scarves in honour of Warne's lifelong association with the club.</p> <p dir="ltr">The service ended with a final lap for Warnie around the Moorabbin Oval, the homeground of The Saints AFL team, to the <em>Dirty Dancing</em> hit <em>(I've Had) The Time of My Life</em>. Warne's hearse, also decorated with footy scarves, was followed by a small group, including his three children Brooke, Jackson and Summer, and his parents Keith and Brigitte.</p> <p dir="ltr">As the hearse left the arena, Tina Turner's <em>Simply the Best</em> played and attendees applauded.</p> <p dir="ltr"><img src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/2022/03/shane-warne-funeral.jpg" alt="" width="1280" height="720" /></p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Attendees raised their glasses to Warnie, who died aged 52 of a heart attack in early March. 2022 Oscar nominations announced

<p>With the nominations for the 94th Oscars announced on Wednesday, Nicole Kidman will be leading the charge for Australia with her nomination for Best Actress for her performance in <em>Being the Ricardos</em>. </p><p>This nomination is the fourth time Nicole Kidman has been nominated for the award, having won the Oscar previously for her work in <em>The Hours</em> in 2002. </p><p>New Zealand director Jane Campion is the only woman to receive a Best Director nomination after her work on <em>The Power of the Dog</em>, which has racked up 12 nominations across multiple categories. </p><p>Those nominations include one for Australian Kodi Smit-McPhee, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his work on the film, as was co-star Jesse Plemons.</p><p>Despite being snubbed by the BAFTAs for her role in <em>The Lost Daughter</em>, British actress Olivia Colman nabbed a nomination for her outstanding performance in the film. </p><p>Sci-fi epic <em>Dune</em> racked up 10 nominations including Best Picture, with the film's director Denis Villeneuve noticeably missing from the Best Director category. </p><p>Political satire film <em>Don't Look Up</em> shocked film critics with its Best Picture nomination, given its divisive reception after its premiere last December.</p><p>Noticeably snubbed from the Best Actress category was Lady Prince Charles nods off during separation ceremony

<p>Prince Charles has been spotted appearing to doze off during an historic ceremony in Barbados.</p> <p>The 73-year-old Prince of Wales was caught on camera closing his eyes as his head slowly fell forward, before he jolted back up as cameras flashed in front of him.</p> <p>The ceremony marked Barbados becoming a republic, ending four centuries with the British monarch as the head of state.</p> <p>Prince Charles attended the historic Presidential Inauguration Ceremony in Bridgetown, and was joined by former cricketer Garfield Sobers, new president Sandra Mason and singer Rihanna.</p> <p>During the ceremony, the heir to the throne acknowledged the "appalling atrocity of slavery", as he described it as something "which forever stains our history".</p> <p>Charles summed up the period when the UK was one of the leading players in the transatlantic slave trade as the "darkest days of our past", but looking to the future said the "creation of this republic offers a new beginning".</p> <p>In a message to the new president and people of Barbados, the Queen sent the new republic her "warmest good wishes for your happiness, peace and prosperity in the future" and commended the nation which has a "special place" in her heart for "its vibrant culture, its sporting prowess, and its natural beauty".</p> <p>Prince Charles watched on as the presidential flag was raised in place of the Queen's at midnight local time, on the 55th anniversary of independence from Britain.</p> <p>Despite nodding off due to the change in time zone, Prince Charles said he was honoured to be attending the ceremony, and said he will "always consider myself a friend of Barbados."</p> <p>"Tonight you write the next chapter of your nation's story, adding to the treasury of past achievement, collective enterprise and personal courage which already fill its pages."</p> <p>"Yours is a story in which every Barbadian, young and old, can take the greatest pride - inspired by what has come before them and confident about what lies ahead."</p> <p><em>Image credits: Getty Images</em></p>

Malala ties the knot in intimate ceremony

<p dir="ltr">24-year-old female education activist and the world’s youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Malala Yousafzai, has tied the knot in a small ceremony in Birmingham. The Pakistani human rights advocate and Oxford graduate, often referred to by just her first name, announced the marriage on social media on Tuesday.</p> <p dir="ltr">Posting several photos of her and her new husband, cricket official Asser Malik, Yousafzai wrote, “Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. One of the photos shared to Twitter shows the couple signing what is presumably their marriage contract, while being supervised by a religious official. They are seated in front of a wall of white flowers, with the occasional pink rose making an appearance. Another photo shows the couple with Yousafzai’s parents in front of that same wall.</p> <p dir="ltr">Yousafzai has previously questioned the need for marriage, asking in a<span> </span><em>Vogue<span> </span></em>interview in July of this year, "If you want to have a person in your life, why do you have to sign marriage papers? Why can't it just be a partnership?"</p> <p dir="ltr">Yousafzai made headlines around the world in 2012, when, at the age of 15, an attempt was made on her life by members of the Taliban in an act of retaliation for her advocacy for women’s education. She was hit in the head with a bullet and rendered unconscious, but her condition eventually improved enough for her to be transferred to a hospital in Birmingham, where she has been based since.</p> <p dir="ltr">In June of last year, Yousafzai revealed she had passed her final examinations and completed her Philosophy, Politics, and Economics degree at Lady Margaret Hall, the University of Oxford. Benazir Bhutto, who Yousafzai has previously cited as an inspiration, also attended the college.</p> <p dir="ltr">Little is known about Yousafzai’s husband, Asser Malik, except that he works for the Pakistan Cricket Board.</p> <p dir="ltr">Many celebrities wished the couple well on social media, including Greta Thunberg, who met with Yousafzai at Oxford last year, and Reese Witherspoon, who wrote, “Congratulations on this wonderful moment! 💫❤️”.</p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Image: Twitter</em></p>

Singer Stan Walker marries in private ceremony

<p>Singer Stan Walker has tied the knot with partner Lou Tyson in an intimate romantic ceremony in New Zealand.</p> <p>The couple, who first began dating in 2013, said “I do” in a private service last month.</p> <p>Given ongoing COVID restrictions both in Australia and in New Zealand - where they’re based - their plans for a big wedding were put aside in favour of a low-key ceremony with only immediate family.</p> <p>Tyson’s son, who Walker affectionately refers to as “Boy”, was their pageboy, while both of their parents were in attendance, as well as a celebrant.</p> <p>Walker’s siblings — he has three brothers and one sister — all live in Australia so they were unable to attend.</p> <p>But they’ve posted a hauntingly-beautiful video of their wedding on YouTube for all of their friends and family who could not attend – as well as fans. But they’ve said they still intend to put on a big party in the new year when travel is hopefully back on the table.</p> <p>Tyson wore a traditional white dress, while Walker opted for loose-fitting silk pants and shirt.</p> <p>Walker, 30, first rose to fame when he won <em>Australian Idol</em> in 2009. He went on to become a top recording artist – both in Australia and in New Zealand. He also embarked on some successful television and acting projects.</p> <p>The couple have taken a while to get married. While Tyson has long been the love of Walker’s life, touring and recording commitments separated them in 2017 for some time and they went their separate ways. But they reunited in 2020.</p> <p>While lockdown means live gigs are currently off the table, Walker has been busy working on some new music. His eighth and ninth albums will be released this month and in October.</p> <p>As a backdrop to the couple’s wedding video, Walker sings his song titled: <em>Mateamateaone.</em></p> <p>He is a cancer survivor, who underwent treatment for stomach cancer a few years ago, and he is a passionate First Nations advocate.</p> <p><em>Image: YouTube</em></p>

Hospital staff host heartwarming ceremony for pregnant couple

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">With the COVID-19 pandemic disrupting special events all over the world, especially weddings, one Bay Area couple in the US weren’t the exception - but their attempts to tie the knot came with several big surprises.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Californian Jeff Nunes and his now-wife Fatima, have been together for 12 years and trying for a baby for a while. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">They were also due to marry last year, but the ceremony was delayed due to the pandemic.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">But, this year Fatima found out she was pregnant, and when she was taken to the hospital for issues with her kidney and bladder last week, there was talk that the baby could come at any time.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“The patient mentioned that she would like to get married before having birth,” said Deedee Pubien, the unit director of the Birth Center at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The staff prepared a surprise for the couple - a small outdoor wedding in the hospital’s garden courtyard on the hospital’s third floor.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“When I walked in to get married to my wife. Just her, myself, and a witness, there was a whole ceremony planned for us!” Jeff said.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“I’m standing there on the edge of the carpet with rose petals that nurses and doctors threw down and [Fatima] comes out and has a wedding gown on and she is pregnant of course. Just happiness, pure happiness,” Jeff said.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Baby Logan was born four and a half weeks premature, but his dad says he is healthy, happy, and beautiful.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">With the surprising turn of events, the new dad has advice for others in similar situations.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Don’t give up. Bride’s death at wedding led to a bizarre ceremony

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A tragically bizarre wedding ceremony occurred in India, with the bride passing away moments before tying the knot in a traditional ceremony.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Surabhi fell unconscious next to her husband-to-be Manjesh Kumar.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Though doctors rushed in to save her, she was pronounced dead due to a cardiac arrest, according to the local media.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Despite the tragic circumstances, a new arrangement was made between both parties to continue the ceremony - involving the bride’s younger sister.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“We did not know what to do in the situation,” Surabhi’s brother Surabh told local media.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Both the families sat together and someone suggested that my younger sister Nisha should be married to the groom.</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"><br /></span><span style="font-weight: 400;">“The families discussed the matter and both agreed.”</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It’s understood Surabhi’s body was kept in a separate room while the ceremony occurred.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“It was a tough call for our family. One daughter lay dead in one room and the wedding of another daughter was being solemnised in the other room,” Surabhi’s uncle Ajab Singh added.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“We have never witnessed such mixed emotions.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“The grief over her death and the happiness of the wedding have yet to sink in.”</span></p>

Royals across the globe come together for special ceremony

<p>Royals all over the world came together for the historic Enthronement Ceremony of Emperor Naruhito of Japan in Tokyo at the beautiful Imperial Place. </p> <p>Kings, Queens, Princes and  Princesses from across the globe travelled to Tokyo, including Australian-born Crown Princess of Denmark, Princess Mary. </p> <p>Royals and world leaders all across europe, Asia and the Middle East came to watch the traditional ceremony. </p> <p>The emperor, 59, officially began his reign in May after his father, the then-Emperor Akihito resigned. </p> <p>After months of traditional rituals, his ascension has officially been formalised. </p> <p>The ceremony was largely conducted in silence and was held in the presence of an ancient swords and jewels which are sacred treasures which act as symbols of imperial power. </p> <p>The enthronement is an incredibly big deal especially since it is first time it has taken place since 1990 when the then-emperor Akihito ascended the throne. </p> <p>Small crowds turned out on Tuesday morning outside the palace despite a heavy rainfall.</p> <p>"Today is an important day for the new emperor and the empress," 78-year-old Shuichi Hachinuma, told news agency<span> </span>AFP.</p> <p>"I feel the emperor is closer to us, compared to in the past...
