The "hidden meaning" in Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's Christmas card
On the weekend, the palace released the Christmas cards of Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, the Prince William and Duchess Kate's family, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Prince Harry and Meghan’s black and white Christmas card has received a flood of interest from fans because of its non-traditional style.
The stunning photo, which was taken by Chris Allerton at their wedding reception, shows the couple holding hands and leaning in towards each other as they watch the firework display.
Although there is plenty of negativity surrounding the romantic photo, royal commentator Victoria Arbiter believes the photo was chosen because it gives the world an intimate glimpse into a special moment from their lives.
“As Harry and Meghan poured over their wedding album trying to decide which photo to share, were they really plotting their revenge on the spate of unfair headlines in recent weeks?”
“Instead, could it possibly have been, let’s use a picture that no-one’s seen before. One from our happiest day, a moment of unbridled bliss. That might be a nice way to wish everyone a Happy Christmas?”
The candid photo, which is also the first-ever photo to be made public from their wedding reception, also displays the lake at Frogmore House – the grounds of their future home in Windsor.
Body language expert Judi James said the “super-glam” photo shows off “Harry and Meghan’s enviably romantic life as an A-list power couple in the Hollywood style”.
“It could be an ad for a luxury brand, with the formally dressed couple lost in their intimate moment as they gaze up at the fireworks.
Judi said the fact that their backs are turned to the camera reveals one key aspect of their relationship.
“It implies they're in that stage of love where they only have eyes for one another.”
Throughout the year, the newlyweds have not shied away from showing affection for one another while they attend public engagements.
For their Christmas card photo, Prince William and Duchess Kate opted for a family photo taken in Autumn.
In the photo, shot by Matt Porteous at their Norfolk home, all three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – are flashing sweet smiles for the camera.View this post on Instagram
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to share a new photograph of their family. The photograph, taken by Matt Porteous, shows The Duke and Duchess with their three children at Anmer Hall. This photograph features on Their Royal Highnesses’ Christmas card this year.
Prince Charles and his wife Duchess Camilla opted for a photo of them looking into each other’s eyes while sitting on a bench in the gardens of Clarence House.
