A UK rail safety organisation has released an alarming video of an empty pram being pulled across a platform by a train’s slipstream and completely destroyed.
The Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) released CCTV of the accident, which took place at Nuneaton railway station in Warwickshire, England back in July of this year.
In the horrifying video a woman can be seen leaving the pram without its brakes on the platform.
As a freight train blasts past, the slipstream from the train drags the pram towards the platform edge and it is truck and thrown across the train platform.
The RSSB warns there were 1515 incidents on platform edges between April 6, 2015 and April 5, 2016.
Pram incidents are not uncommon here in Australia with footage of a terrifying incident released earlier this year.
Metro Trains Victoria launched a new pram safety campaign last month highlighting the need for parents to exercise caution at all times while travelling by train.
