“Entitled” bride unleashes after only seven people RSVP to her wedding

A furious bride has been slammed online after unleashing on a lengthy tirade, calling out her friends and family who aren’t attending her wedding.

Sara took to Facebook to share the extensive rant about her upcoming nuptials, after only seven people RSVP’d to the big day.

The American bride-to-be called out those she invited to her destination wedding, saying they showed how little they “really” cared about her and her fiancé.

“When we invited our friends and family to our destination wedding in Thailand, only nine people RSVP'd. Out of 150!!! OK, I get it, paying $3,000 to share my special day is too much for some of you. I'd pay for yours, but whatever,” she wrote.

“But then, when we changed the wedding to be in Hawaii, so it's within everyone's reach, only seven of you RSVP'd? It costs less but less if you want to come? Is that what you think of me? You can't spare $2,000 to come and share our happiness?”

Sara said that she was willing to take drastic measures to make up for the disrespect she'd been shown by her loved ones.

“I'm tempted to just elope and not let any of you be part of our happiest day. This is it guys, you have three days to respond to our e-vites or we're deleting you off Facebook and good luck keeping up with our lives then.”

“And don't get me started on the registry - only the cheap stuff is gone, I swear I thought I had better friends.”

“[My fiancé] and I are asking you to reconsider.”

Sara’s unhinged rant was quickly shared to a Facebook group dedicated to shaming people’s wedding choices, where it garnered hundreds of comments slamming the bride.

“People who get married abroad have chosen not to have guests at their wedding,” one person said.

“Does she not understand people have jobs and kids or just simply don't want to spend thousands on someone else's wedding?” another asked.

“If I was her friend I’d save her a job and unfriend myself after reading that,” a third person admitted.

“So tacky”: Bride slammed for using GoFundMe to pay for wedding

A cash-strapped bride has been slammed for considering using GoFundMe to help pay for her wedding.

Taking to a wedding page on Facebook, the bride explained that she and her partner had been saving as much money as possible for their wedding, but were struggling with their finances.

“Our wedding is next year but I'm still so stressed that we won't be able to pay for the things that we need let alone actual decorations,” the bride began.

Given the large expense of a wedding, the bride questioned if it was “tacky” to use GoFundMe, a crowd-funding website used for emergencies, to fund her big day.

People were quick to chime in on the idea, with many people labelling it as “inappropriate” to use such a site for wedding expenses.

The bride didn't share how much extra money she needs to fund the wedding, but many said she should continue to save rather than rely on others.

“Have the wedding you can afford, or wait and save,” one said bluntly.

“Personally I think it is [tacky]. If you want to have a wedding you should be funding it yourself. If you can't afford all the things you want, then I guess you have to decide if you would rather go without or postpone until it's in your budget,” another wrote.

One woman said it's “insensitive” since GoFundMe pages are for emergencies only, such as medical situations.

“If you can't afford to have the wedding you want you really have two choices - postpone until in a better position financially or scale back your plans to fit within your means,” she said.

Groom faces serious jail time after $89 million "wedding of the century"

A groom whose viral $89 million wedding was dubbed the "wedding of the century" is now facing a possible life sentence in prison.

Jacob LaGrone, 29, and wife, car dealership heiress Madelaine Brockway, took social media by storm last month after videos of their lavish, five-day wedding in France went viral on TikTok.

The wedding which featured an overnight stay at the Palace of Versailles, rehearsal dinner at the Paris Opera House, and a performance by Maroon 5 at the Texan couple's reception, was nothing short of amazing.

Now, instead of going on their honeymoon, the groom could be facing life in prison, after getting arrested for allegedly shooting at three police officers in an incident on March 14.

The Nashville native was indicted eight months ago on three counts of aggravated assault on a public servant, which is a first-degree felony in Texas, that, if convicted, could see him face a sentence from less than five years to life in prison.

According to city officials, officers responded to multiple disturbance calls about a gun being discharged at a home – and when the three officers arrived, "they were fired upon” by LaGrone.

An indictment obtained by The Washington Post, said that LaGrone "did intentionally and knowingly threaten imminent bodily injury" to the officers and “did use or exhibit a deadly weapon during the commission of the assault, namely, a firearm”.

The indictment did not specify where the incident took place, and no further details were given regarding the disturbance calls.

The Dallas Morning News reported that the Tarrant County District Attorney offered LaGrone a plea deal of 25-years in jail .

Neither LaGrone nor his wife have publicly addressed the charges, and both have since made their social media accounts private.

Images: Instagram/ News.com.au

Couple misses their own wedding after cruise ship forced to turn back

A couple has missed their own dream destination wedding after their cruise ship was denied entry into New Zealand.

Janine Sherriff and Kyle Risk dreamed of exchanging rings at the popular Lord of the Rings filming location, Hobbiton, located on the north island of New Zealand.

The couple were meant to meet up with some close friends and family in New Zealand, as they travelled across from Australia on a P&O cruise ship, but were turned back from docking over an unclean hull.

The “Kiwi Adventure” cruise, which was meant to be a 13-day journey, turned into more of a Tasmanian adventure after the ship was told to head to Australia’s southernmost state instead.

New Zealand’s biosecurity laws were triggered over just three juvenile mussels and one single hydroid (AKA: lace coral), which needed to be removed from the ship's hull.

“We took the time off from work, we had our nearest and dearest friends and family all co-ordinate to be in New Zealand at this exact time,” Janine told the ABC.

“The plan was to get off the boat, go straight to Hobbiton, have our wedding, then head straight back to the boat for the rest of the honeymoon.”

“Now we have to figure out what to do about our wedding, we have all this money down the drain. I am heartbroken this day has been taken away from me."

Kyle added, “First off, I was furious.”

“I saw Janine’s face when we got the news. I was ready to explode.

“I got a selfie from our family and friends at the site in Hobbiton we should have been on about 20 minutes before we had to turn around.”

“It would have meant a lot as it was a beautiful setting. As long as we have each other,” he added.

The cruise operator in charge of the vessel, P&O, has offered customers $300 in on-board credit and a 50 per cent credit on a future cruise.

“We apologise for the change in itinerary and thank our guests for their patience and understanding,” a spokesperson for the company’s Australian division said per the Daily Mail.

“Now THIS is a gift I can get behind”: Couple praised for unusual wedding request

A young couple have come up with an inventive way to pay off a speeding fine, while asking their friends and family to contribute to the cost.

Annabelle and James, from Texas in the US, were less than three weeks away from their wedding when James unfortunately received a speeding fine in the mail.

With their wedding budget already at capacity, the young couple weren’t sure how they were going to be able to fork out for the $231 fine.

However, they came up with a genius way to deal with the fine: by adding it to their wedding gift registry.

Annabelle shared their great idea to TikTok, writing, “Wedding in 26 days, timing couldn't be better.”

In the video, Annabelle showed her fiancé James sitting in front of a computer holding an envelope containing the $231 penalty for driving over the speed limit.

“Feel free to support James in his down-bad era on The Knot at Annabelle and James's Wedding Registry,” she wrote in the caption of the clip.

In the 15-second-clip, Annabelle showed their registry list on the computer screen, focusing on a section for 'cash fund' on their digital gift wish list and a picture of a police officer issuing the fine.

She then zoomed in on James updating their registry, writing 'PLEASE HELP,' as he added the speeding fine to the cash fund.

The video has racked up hundreds of thousands of views, with many people praising their inventive way of repaying the fine.

“Now this is a wedding gift I can get behind,” one viewer declared.

Others also flocked to the comments to share similar stories that happened around their own wedding days.

“I got a speeding ticket the night before our wedding... guess it happens to the best of us,” added one person.

“My husband got a speeding ticket the day of our rehearsal dinner, so very relatable,” agreed another.

"Cutest thing ever": Bride and groom praised for breaking wedding tradition

A bride and groom have been praised online for deviating from the traditional wedding party to include their siblings in an adorable way.

Carla Wehbe took to TikTok to share a video from her cousin Raymond's nuptials to his partner Bella, in which both the bride and groom wanted their siblings standing next to them on their big day.

Raymond had his sister wear a black dress, to match his groomsmen in their black tuxedos, and be given the title best woman.

In contrast, Bella’s brother was given a pink suit to match the pink dresses of the other bridesmaids and was given the title man of honour.

“The reason they did it was because their siblings were their best friends and they wanted them to stand by their side on their special day,” Wehbe said in an interview with Newsweek. “I loved the idea and thought it made the day really special.”

The video has racked up over 65 million views, with thousands of people flocking to the comments to congratulate the newlywed couple, while praising their decision to break with tradition.

“This needs to be done more often,” one comment read.

However, not all of the commenters were on board with the idea, while many traditionalists slammed the act.

Despite the critcs, Wehbe said most of the comments were positive, and that she wanted to use the video to let people know that they can have any kind of wedding they want, whether it breaks tradition or not.

“It will definitely inspire people who may have wanted to but were not sure if it was acceptable,” she said. “People should just do what makes them happy on their special day!”

"Entitled" couple slammed for charging guests almost $4K to attend wedding

A daring UK couple has taken being frugal to the next level by charging their guests £2,000 (AUD $3,806) to attend their wedding.

The couple's antics have gone viral on Reddit after one of the guests shared the bewildering experience online

The guest claimed that he received an email prior to the wedding with a link that read, "Click here for payment."

Assuming it was a link for a honeymoon fund, the guest clicked on it only to discover the couple's ridiculous request for nearly £2,000.

The generous guest decided to humour the couple and paid the fee, hoping that he would be able to enjoy the free bar and indulge in the wedding feast, to reap some of the benefits of his investment.

It's not surprising that the couple, who asked their guests to pay for their wedding, also charged them for drinks. After spending nearly £2,000, the wedding guest also had to pay an additional £30 (AUD $57) on drinks.

After doing the maths, the guest concluded that the wedding venue's cost had been evenly distributed among them - so the couple essentially enjoyed a free wedding thanks to their friends and family.

This sparked outrage among other Reddit users who were in disbelief over the couple's "entitlement".

"I'm sorry (not sorry), but I would never pay to attend a wedding, let alone pay £2000. The entitlement is overflowing here!" commented one person

"I'd reach out to the bride and groom for a refund," wrote another.

"Your friend and every other guest were absolute suckers for going along with this scheme," another brutally honest user added.

Another user criticised the couple for not providing drinks for their generous guests.

"I don't have anything against dry weddings but surely you can offer something other than just water."

"As soon as I saw that payment screen, I'd have cancelled my RSVP. Regardless of the bride and groom's relationship, if you want a particular type of wedding, foot the bill yourself," another user commented.

"Their approach was simply tacky."

Image: Getty

"Magical": Ed Sheeran crashes wedding after cancelled Vegas concert

Ed Sheeran, the man of the hour, recently pulled off a surprise move that left a wedding chapel feeling less little and a lot more magical. After recently being forced to scrap his Las Vegas gig due to some venue woes, he stumbled upon a teeny spot he couldn't resist: The Little White Wedding Chapel.

In a moment that's now etched in matrimonial history, Sheeran couldn't resist the urge to crash Jordan and Carter Lindenfield's intimate wedding ceremony. And boy, oh boy, was it a surprise!

The couple were just about to say their "I dos" when up popped Ed Sheeran like a musical jack-in-the-box. Strolling in with an acoustic guitar and a gang of backup singers, ready to serenade the lovebirds with his upcoming single, "Magical", the jaw-dropping, starstruck expressions from the bride and groom said it all.

After Sheeran finished crooning his heart out for the tearful duo, they sealed the deal with a kiss and the all-important certificate-signing ritual. But here's the kicker: Sheeran himself became an official witness to their nuptials, sheepishly admitting: "This is the first time I've been a witness."

As if the entire affair wasn't surreal enough, Ed took to Instagram to immortalise the moment, captioning it with the understatement of the century: "Crashed a wedding, this is Magical."

The fans, always ready to hop on the Sheeran bandwagon, couldn't contain their excitement in the comments section. Some were so swept away by the thought of Ed showing up at their own weddings that they contemplated tying the knot, fiancé or not.

"I never wanted to get married, but if this could happen, I might reconsider," one fan playfully quipped. Another enthusiastic soul chimed in, "You can crash my wedding too! No date set, and I'm still looking for the fiancé, but hey, baby steps."

This isn't the first time Sheeran has indulged in his wedding-crashing whims. In 2015, he made headlines by gatecrashing a wedding ceremony in Sydney, courtesy of a local radio station. They had organised the dream wedding for a couple who had faced some serious hardships, so Sheeran decided to sprinkle some stardust on their special day.

Fast forward to the present, and Ed's spontaneous wedding performances are still going strong. This latest magical moment came hot on the heels of his Las Vegas concert cancellation. He had to break the news to fans just an hour before showtime. But he then went on to assure everyone that the safety of his fans was his top priority. "I really am gutted," he confessed, but promised that the rescheduled show on October 28 would be nothing short of spectacular.

How $10,000 lottery win ruined a wedding

A bridesmaid who won $10,000 AUD from a scratchie that was gifted to her by the bride and groom, has been embroiled in a furious debate after refusing to share her winnings with the newlyweds.

A tight-knit group of 10 friends - all couples - travelled to Cyprus together for their friend's destination wedding.

As part of the wedding favours, the newlyweds gifted everyone a scratchie.

All of them were in high spirits when the win was announced, until another bridesmaid asked lotto winners Sarah* and her groomsman boyfriend Paul* if they would share their winnings.

“We all sat down to eat and while we were waiting, Sarah started jumping up and down shouting she had won $A10,000 on the scratch card,” the bridesmaid wrote on a Reddit thread.

“The whole room erupted in applause, and the bride and groom ran over to congratulate them. It was already a very happy occasion but this just made it even better.”

The bridesmaid asked the uncomfortable question over breakfast the next day.

“They were saying what they planned to do with the winnings and everyone was asking questions and I casually asked how much of it they were going to give to the bride and groom,” she said.

“There was no agenda behind my question — I didn’t ask because I was trying to hint that they should do this, it just never occurred to me as a possibility that they wouldn’t give at least a small amount as a belated wedding gift to the couple, given they wouldn’t have had the ticket without them," she added.

Much to her surprise Paul and Sarah went quiet until Paul replied that they weren't going to give the newlyweds anything.

“We sat in awkward silence for a bit, and Sarah got up and walked out.”

The bridesmaid later found out that Sarah had been crying over the question, and the couple have since cut their ties with her.

“Paul said I was the a****** for making them feel awkward and implying they were cheap. I apologise and said that’s not what I meant.

“I just said it because that’s what I would do in their situation, but it is their money and their decision so they should do what they want with the money.

“Paul’s walked off and neither of them spoke to me for the rest of the holiday or since.”

She later asked the rest of the group what they would've done with the winnings, and while some agreed that Sarah and Paul should give something to the bride and groom as a thank you, they also acknowledged that the question made the situation "awkward."

“So am I the a****** for making my friend feel awkward for not sharing her lottery winnings?” she concluded in the thread.

Shockingly, a majority of people criticised the bridesmaid's question and defended Sarah and Paul's decision to keep the winnings to themselves.

“You have no idea what Paul and Sarah might need that money for," one wrote.

"The lotto ticket was a gift, so they have no obligation to share the winnings with anyone. But you just had to put them on the spot and implicitly pressure them to do what you think you would have done with the money if you had won instead."

“That remark was in bad taste, and totally put them in an uncomfortable position," another commented.

"You asked them as if giving the bride and groom some of the money was a no brainer, but it’s not. if they keep it all for themselves, it’s their right and no one ought to judge them. The fact is that you totally put your foot in your mouth."

A third explained: “$A10,000 is a great win but it’s not so much they can share it without making their windfall pretty meaningless to them in the end and because of the way you phrased the question you stopped them from making a kind gesture themselves.

“You turned it into an obligation where the amount they decided to share would then be an issue for people to question if it was ‘enough’ or not. It’s such a shame you turned something nice for them into something that made them sad."

*Names have been changed.

Image: Getty

Doggone it! Groom's passport eaten by pup just days ahead of international wedding

A couple's dream wedding abroad has been put in jeopardy after their cheeky golden retriever destroyed the groom-to-be's passport just weeks before their big day.

Donato Frattaroli and his fiancée Magda, from Boston in the US, have planned their dream nuptials in Italy, with their big day coming up on August 31st.

The couple went to city hall to fill out the intention of marriage forms a week before they were set to fly out, when Donato realised their dog, a golden retriever named Chickie, has destroyed his passport.

The dog had chewed through several pages of the passport, rendering it completely useless.

Donato said that Chickie, short for chicken cutlet, knew the damage she had caused.

"She kinda knew what she did and all of a sudden, she got really cuddly, you know, head on the lap kind of thing," he told Good Morning America.

Dog ate my ... passport?!

A Boston couple’s golden retriever chewed through multiple pages of groom Donatto Frattaroli’s passport just days before they were set to fly to Italy for their wedding. pic.twitter.com/LN7fhOtOr7

— Good Morning America (@GMA) August 21, 2023

Donato has now contacted state officials to help them get to the altar in Italy in time.

"I'm just a little stressed," Frattaroli said.

"Luckily, Congressman (Stephen) Lynch's office and Senator (Ed) Markey's office have been super responsive. They've been in touch, at least with me and the State Department, to try to expedite things and get a new passport."

"Keep my fingers crossed and, hopefully, everything will work itself out."

Donato attended a passport appointment on Monday to get the important document, and is crossing his fingers it arrives before their flight departs on Friday.

The couple told local Boston news outlet WCVB that if Frattaroli's passport replacement doesn't come in time, Magda and their wedding guests will travel to Italy without Frattaroli and he'll welcome them all home when they return to the US.

Image credits: Good Morning America / WCVB TV

Princess Diana's never-before-seen backup wedding gown

The designer of Princess Diana's iconic wedding gown has revealed the details of a secret second dress that has never seen the light of day.

In an exclusive interview with Hello! magazine, British designer Elizabeth Emmanuel revealed that she had planned for the worst in the lead up to the royal nuptials in 1981 by creating a backup dress.

When Princess Diana married King Charles at St Paul’s Cathedral, she wore the now iconic voluptuous custom gown with a 25-foot train and 10,000 mother-of-pearl sequin and pearl embellishments.

However, this gown may not have been the one debuted on the red-carpet aisle if news of it leaked before the big day.

“The spare wedding gown was made just in case the secret of the real dress ever got out,” Emmanuel proclaimed. “Fortunately, it was never used.”

Emmanuel drew inspiration from the 20-year-old’s initial design for the “spare,” pointing to a similar V-cut neckline adorned with a ruffle trim, puffy sleeves, and massive skirt in the never-before-seen sketch.

The substitute was “pale ivory silk taffeta with embroidered scalloped details on the hem and sleeves” and detailed with delicate pearls along a tight-fitting bodice.

To see the stunning draft design of the spare gown, click here.

In the lead up to the wedding, strict security measures were put in place to prevent anyone from seeing the dresses before Diana walked down the aisle.

“We had the dress stored every night in a metal cabinet guarded by two guards, Jim and Bert,” Elizabeth noted. “So there was somebody there 24 hours a day and we put shutters on all our windows, and we put false color threads in the rubbish bins because people were going through our bins.”

Elizabeth, now 70-years-old, lost track of the alternate gown, which the Princess of Wales never actually tried on.

Just before what would have been the royal pair’s 42nd wedding anniversary, Elizabeth told Hello!, “I don’t know where it went. It just disappeared.”

However, when Princess Diana tragically died, her original gown was left to both Prince William and Prince Harry, as the historic garment now rests in Kensington Palace.

Woman divides internet after cancelling her brother's wedding

A woman has divided the internet after admitting to cancelling her brother's wedding without telling him, after consistently being treated poorly by her future sister-in-law.

The 27-year-old shared that the "extreme" moment came after countless mean comments, wedding planning gone wrong and a selection of financial problems.

Writing on Reddit's "Am I The A**hole?" thread, the woman wanted advice on if she was in the wrong.

The woman explained that her brother, 30, and his fiancée Ella, 28, had been together three years but the two women were never particularly close.

"Honestly, we never got along but I always tried to put up a peaceful front because my brother seemed blissfully happy with her," the poster explained on the online forum.

"Ella was mean to me a lot ... She would make comments about my weight, my makeup, and especially my dog. She hated animals and hated that I would bring my lab, Toast, to my parents or my brothers house."

After her brother popped the question, she was shocked when Ella asked her to be her Maid of Honour, given their turbulent relationship.

Despite this, she agreed to the role, thinking it was the "sisterly" thing to do.

"What I failed to realise when I accepted the role was that to her [Maid Of Honour] meant planning the entire wedding. Like I was booking venues, florists, jazz band, everything," the woman wrote.

"Even worse she expected me to put my MY credit card down for all of it... Every time I asked Ella about it, she would say that it would all be paid back by her parents before the wedding."

It wasn't until three weeks before the wedding that the relationship between the two women took a turn for the worst.

"I asked if she had received the updated receipt of everything owed when she exploded," she said.

"She called me a whole line of terrible names but the one that stuck out was her saying 'What do you need the money for anyway? Your sick dog is dead now'."

"My beautiful Toasty died about a month before this after he fought the bravest battle with cancer. He was my soul dog and I was devastated."

Ella's hurtful comments went a step too far, leading the woman to "immediately called the vendors and cancelled any deposit under my card. Every. Single. One."

"After almost 20 calls, all that was left of her wedding was the dress and the flower arch."

The woman told her brother what she had done, and said she would no longer be attending their wedding if it still went ahead after her revenge plan.

She then ignored calls from her future sister-in-law, forcing her to deal with all the wedding fallout.

Most people took to the comments in support of the woman's "revenge", saying she would have been saddled with footing the bill.

"MOH duties do NOT include planning the whole wedding and they certainly do NOT put down all the deposits and pay for the wedding," one person wrote.

"If you ask me, it sounds 100% like they were going to stiff you for the wedding. I don't believe for a minute her parents were paying for it."

Another wrote, "You didn't cancel the wedding. You extricated yourself from an abusive and exploitative situation. They're still free to marry, on their own thin dime."

While most people supported the woman's actions, there were a handful of comments that believed the woman had gone too far with her revenge, but also agreed her sister-in-law treated her very poorly.

After the original post went viral, the poster shared an update that she is now speaking to her brother again and that the couple didn't make it down the aisle.

They are currently on a "break" with Ella no longer in possession of an engagement ring.
