Brunei Prince's lavish 10 day wedding

<p>Brunei Prince Abdul Mateen, 32,  has tied the knot with Yang Mulia Anisha Roshna, 29, in a lavish 10-day royal wedding. </p> <p>The first few photos of the grand event were posted on Prince Mateen's Instagram, coupled with a few photos from the couple's childhood.</p> <p>"14.01.2024" he captioned the series of photos,  with "praise be to God" written underneath the date in Arabic. </p> <p>The couple wed at the Istana Nurul Iman palace in front of 5,000 guests, including royals from Saudia Arabia, Jordan, Indonesia and the Philippines.</p> <p>Yang Mulia Anisha Roshna, looked stunning in a white gown decorated with a silver diamond motif, a floral veil and tiara. She completed the look with a statement diamond necklace and earrings, with natural glam makeup accentuating her features. </p> <p>Prince Mateen, who has over 2.5 million followers on Instagram, and was even crowned one of Asia's <a href="https://www.tatlerasia.com/the-scene/people-parties/asia-s-50-most-eligible-bachelors" target="_blank" rel="noopener">"most eligible bachelors"</a> was dressed in his ceremonial uniform. </p> <p>After the lavish ceremony, the couple took part in a procession all the way to the capital of Bandar Seri Begawan, as they greeted thousands of well-wishers who gathered for the event in an open-top Rolls Royce. </p> <p>The 10-day wedding ceremony based on Islamic traditions began on January 7, with the proposal ceremony where the groom's family officially declared their intention to marry the bride.</p> <p>The day after, family and their guests attended a performance by royal court musicians. </p> <p>The third day consisted of an engagement ceremony where the groom's family brought symbolic gifts to the bride's residence. </p> <p>This was then followed by a powdering ceremony where the bride and groom's families apply powder to the couple's hands so their marriage is blessed with happiness, fertility, and wealth.  </p> <p>On the fifth day, the bride and groom officially exchange their vows in a religious ceremony which is followed by the royal banquet. </p> <p>Prince Mateen  and his wife announced their engagement in October 2023, but they were rumoured to have been dating for years. </p> <p>The Prince is the 10th child of Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, one of the world's richest royals, and Yang Mulia Anisha Roshna is the granddaughter of one of the Sultan’s special advisors. </p> <p><em>Images: Instagram</em></p> <p> </p>

Billionaire throws star-studded party for most famous names on the planet

Lionel Richie’s daughter Sofia ties the knot in lavish French wedding

<p dir="ltr">Sofia Richie, 24, has officially tied the knot with British record executive Elliot Grainge, 30, in a lavish ceremony in the south of France.</p> <p dir="ltr">The wedding took place over the weekend at the ultra exclusive Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, which boasts stunning views of the Mediterranean, and was attended by various celebrities including Cameron Diaz, Benji Madden, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, and Joel Madden.</p> <p dir="ltr">The socialite walked down the aisle with her famous dad, and has shared intimate details of the moment.</p> <p dir="ltr">“My father has always been the most comforting figure in my life, and he’s kept me grounded,” Sofia told <a href="https://www.vogue.com/slideshow/sofia-richie-and-elliot-grainge-wedding" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>Vogue</em></a>.</p> <p dir="ltr">Sofia also said that she was really nervous and high on adrenaline before walking down the aisle, but her father’s words comforted her before the big moment.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I was really nervous before I was going to walk down the aisle—it was like I had stage fright, my adrenaline was so high. We had over seven minutes to chat though, and he said: ‘You’re the love of my life, and I’m so happy for you.’”</p> <p dir="ltr">“It was very emotional, and I feel so lucky that I have my parents. I’m very grateful,” she said.</p> <p dir="ltr">In another touching post, Lionel shared some sweet photos of him walking his youngest daughter down the aisle.</p> <p dir="ltr">“My little girl is all grown up and starting her own journey with the love of her life. You'll always be my little bird, but I'm so proud of the woman you've become. Rebel Wilson called out over "hypocritical" lavish holiday

<p>Rebel Wilson has come under fire for attending a lavish party weekend in Dubai, with many of her fans branding her a "hypocrite" for going on the exclusive trip. </p> <p>The Aussie actress was just one of several big names who was invited to the opening of the opulent new hotel, Atlantis The Royal, with other guests including Kendall Jenner, One Direction's Liam Payne, Ellen Pompeo and Aussie stars including Sonia Kruger, Jules Robinson and Natalie Bassingthwaite.</p> <p>Beyonce also performed exclusively at the hotel opening, after reportedly being paid $34 million for the private set. </p> <p>Rebel shared the highlights of her luxury trip on Instagram, saying “Atlantis The Royal is BEYond! The hypocrisy of it all,” wrote one.</p> <p>“Human rights? LGBT? Unfollowing now,” said another.</p> <p>“Uhm, they kill our kind over there. Why are you promoting this?” another outraged fan wrote.</p> <p>Others were even more scathing in their criticism, with one person writing, “Oh, the privilege. What about other LGBT people?”</p> <p>Another said, “A nice free trip, to a place that you can’t be gay in. Reese Witherspoon's lavish estate up for grabs

<p>Oscar-winning actress, producer and media mogul Reese Witherspoon officially listed her Brentwood estate in LA, tentatively popping it on the market with a $34 million (US$25m) price tag.</p> <p>Thanks to the sizzling market and a bunch of modern updates Witherspoon and husband Jim Toth made to the residence, the pair have added a hefty $12 million (US$9m) to the original $22 million (US$16m) they paid just two years ago.</p> <p>It seems Witherspoon is testing the market, with the listing only providing a small handful of photos. It notes that additional photos, including the property website, are available upon request to "qualified buyers".</p> <p>Located in the wild of Brentwood's Mandeville Canyon, the Country English Traditional mansion sits behind big gates, ancient trees and a long, winding driveway. The entire place is completely private to the public and feels a world away.</p> <p>While Witherspoon and Toth left the overall style of the home much the same, there have been some pricey contemporary upgrades, including custom-designed finishes and woodwork, that enhance its character appeal to modern buyers.</p> <p>Think a fresh white exterior; steel and brass handrails and updated timber on the grand staircase in the two-storey black and white marble and limestone foyer; new white oak hardwood floors; and a fitness room with sauna.</p> <p>The kitchen, complete with butler's pantry and breakfast room, has been re-done, ditto the now-blue hued library.</p> <p>The new owners will also enjoy use of a separate upstairs "owner's wing" with lavish dual bathrooms and dual boutique walk-in closets, plus an additional office or nursery.</p> <p>Set on just over 3 verdant acres, the seven-bedroom 10-bathroom charmer includes 10 French doors opening to a rolling front lawn and a sweeping back lawn with breathtaking canyon views and gardens.</p> <p><em>Images: Domain </em></p>

Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Stevie Wonder snaps up lavish LA mansion

<p dir="ltr">Music legend Stevie Wonder has recently bought himself a<span> </span><a rel="noopener" href="https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/2147-Ravensfield-Ln_Los-Angeles_CA_90077_M27108-95842" target="_blank">luxe mansion in Bel-Air</a>, dropping $USD 13.85 million ($NZD 20.46 million).</p> <p dir="ltr">According to<span> </span><a rel="noopener" href="https://www.dirt.com/gallery/entertainers/musicians/stevie-wonder-house-bel-air-los-angeles-1203443140/" target="_blank"><em>Dirt</em></a>, the elaborate estate was formerly owned by Prince Mohammed bin Faisal bin Saud al-Saud, who hasn’t spent much time in the area and has apparently been renting the home for $USD 75,000 a month.</p> <p dir="ltr">The home was<span> </span><a rel="noopener" href="https://www.realtor.com/news/celebrity-real-estate/stevie-wonder-reportedly-buys-wonderful-mansion-in-bel-air-for-14m/" target="_blank">first listed for sale</a><span> </span>in 2017 for a whopping $USD 25 million ($NZD 36.93 million), before the price began to nosedive.</p> <p dir="ltr">In early 2018, the price fell to $USD 23.5 million, followed by a reduction to $USD 20 million eight months later and a final discount to $USD 17.95 million at the end of the year. Still failing to find a buyer, the home was eventually floated off the market for a few years before it returned in April 2021 with a price tag of $USD 14.7 million.</p> <p dir="ltr">It was eventually snapped up by Wonder at an almost 50 percent discount off its initial price.</p> <p dir="ltr">Built in 2009, the<span> </span><em>Superstition</em><span> </span>singer’s new 1858-square-metre home includes 11 bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, high ceilings, and a mix of wood and stone floors throughout.</p> <p dir="ltr">The home also boasts a formal dining room, professional kitchen, home theatre, bar, and entertainment room with its own pool table, card table, and pinball machines, and a wine cellar that can hold up to 2550 bottles.</p> <p dir="ltr">On the second floor, the master bedroom comes with a private sitting area and a balcony that overlooks the pool.</p> <p dir="ltr">The lavish estate also includes space for guest or staff quarters, and a lift connecting all three floors.</p> <p dir="ltr">Outside, the half-acre grounds include a pool, spa and waterfall, as well as a patio and outdoor fireplace.</p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Images: Getty Images, Realtor.com</em></p>

"It's enormous": Inside Kate and William's lavish London "apartment"

<p dir="ltr">Though Kensington Palace - the home of Kate Middleton, Prince William and their three children - is open to the public, their private quarters on the royal grounds are off-limits.</p> <p dir="ltr">Despite being named Apartment 1A, royal experts have said their home is anything but small.</p> <p dir="ltr">“All of these royal residences at Kensington Palace are called apartments, which of course makes people immediately think they are flats like the American term for an apartment,” royal biographer Christopher Warwick<span> </span><a rel="noopener" href="https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/property/1544422/Kate-Middleton-Prince-William-inside-Kensington-Palace-layout-rooms-pictures" target="_blank">said</a><span> </span>while appearing on the Royal Beat podcast.</p> <p dir="ltr">“They are not. If you think of Kensington Palace in a way it is built around three courtyards.</p> <p dir="ltr">“If you kind of think of them as being these wonderful red brick terrace houses. Image: Getty Images</span></em></p> <p dir="ltr">Royal author Ingrid Seward confirmed Warwick’s description of the home.</p> <p dir="ltr">“It’s enormous… and it’s like a piece of countryside in London,” she commented.</p> <p dir="ltr">Apartment 1A boasts twenty rooms, including five reception rooms and three master bedrooms - two of which are main floor master suites with his-and-hers dressing rooms and separate nurseries for daytime play and sleep.</p> <p dir="ltr">As for the furnishings in the royal children’s bedrooms, Kate has previously said the family uses IKEA furniture.</p> <p dir="ltr">In 2018, she told Marcus Engman, IKEA’s Head of Design, that Prince George’s room was decked out with IKEA furniture.</p> <p dir="ltr">Kate later revealed that Princess Charlotte’s room had received the same treatment.</p> <p dir="ltr">The kitchen has been renovated to Kate and William’s taste, with reports that they spent £170,000 of their own money on the refurbishment.</p> <p dir="ltr">The home also includes an impressive entrance hall with black and white flagstones, as well as two drawing rooms where guests are taken to.</p> <p dir="ltr">One of the drawing rooms - which features a grand piano and cream sofas - was where the royal couple welcomed former US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama in 2016.</p> <p dir="ltr"><img style="width: 0px; height: 0px;" src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/7846710/kate-william2.jpg" alt="" data-udi="umb://media/2ee7212cd869419998cdb49f039eb99c" /></p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Inside Kate Middleton and Prince William’s Kensington drawing room where they welcomed the Obamas in 2016. Inside Chris Hemsworth’s lavish holiday to Lord Howe Island

Princess Mary's royal finery at lavish New Year ball

<p>Princess Mary and her husband Crown Prince Frederik have rung in the new year with a lavish ball in Copenhagen.</p> <p>Other Danish royals were in attendance, but the guests of honour were Princess Mary, Crown Prince Frederik, Prince Joachim and his wife Princess Marie.</p> <p>This event is marked on the Danish royal’s calendar, as they wear their finest gowns and jewels for the occasion.</p> <p>Princess Mary’s stunning look for the night was quickly revealed as she stepped out of the car, and it’s one that fans have seen many times before.</p> <p>She wore a claret-coloured velvet gown by Birgit Hallstein, one of her favourite designers. Princess Mary first wore the dress in 2007 and has worn the same gown to previous New Year’s Eve dinners. However, she has changed her look slightly.</p> <p>It was seen on Princess Mary in 2012 and 2014, with the 2014 version having a choker added in the same fabric.</p> <p>The dress was also worn for a set of official portraits in 2015.</p> <p>The stunning jewels have also remained the same, as Crown Princess Mary wears the Danish ruby parure. These jewels have been in the royal family since 1869, but date back to the coronation of Napoleon Bonaparte in France.</p> <p>The jewels are solely used by Princess Mary and include a tiara, earrings, bracelet, hair clips, brooches and a necklace.</p> <p>The length of the earrings and necklace can be adjusted with ease.</p> <p>Scroll through the gallery to see Princess Mary wearing the dress over the years.</p>

Duchess Meghan sets record straight on “lavish” baby shower

<p>Duchess Meghan has set the record straight about her highly publicised baby shower in New York, according to<span> </span><em><a rel="noopener" href="https://www.hellomagazine.com/royalty/2019111680667/meghan-markle-sets-record-straight-baby-shower/" target="_blank">Hello!</a> </em>magazine.</p> <p>She has denied previous reports that she intentionally left her mother, Doria Ragland, off the guest list as well as the price of the event as new court papers were filed on Friday about the baby shower.</p> <p>"The suggestion that the Claimant (Meghan) deliberately left out her mother from her baby shower and ditched her in favour of her famous friends is untrue and offensive to her," Meghan's lawyers said.</p> <p>"The Claimant’s mother was of course invited, and the Claimant also offered to buy her airline tickets. However, her mother was unable to attend due to work commitments.</p> <p>The new paperwork filed by the Duchess of Sussex’s lawyers also mentioned the cost of the event as well as the amount of famous guests who attended, including Serena Williams, Amal Clooney, Jessica Mulroney and Gayle King.</p> <p>“It was also untrue and offensive to suggest, as the article does, that ‘not a single guest had known [the Claimant] for more than a decade’. In fact, the true position was that the baby shower (which actually cost a tiny fraction of the $300k falsely stated in the article) was organised and hosted by one of her best friends from university; the fifteen guests who attended the shower were close friends and included long-term friendships some of which had existed for over 20 years."</p> <p>In early October, Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex announced they were taking legal action against the British tabloid<span> </span>The Daily Mail over its publication of a private letter written by Meghan.</p> <p>The couple allege it was published illegally and selectively edited to hide “lies” reported about her.</p>

Inside Serena Williams' lavish Bel Air home – and the eye-watering price she sold it for

<p>Serena Williams has finally found a buyer for her home in Bel Air, Los Angeles, for an eye-watering price of US$8.1 million (NZD$12.24 million).</p> <p>Although Williams sold it at a loss, which was lower than the original asking price, she originally bought the home for US$6.62 million (NZD$10 million) back in 2006.</p> <p>The tennis champion has lived in the home for a decade and first tried to sell it back in 2017 with a price tag of US$12 million (NZD$18.13 million), but she was unable to find an interested buyer.</p> <p>She then tried again this year in January, asking for $US10 million ($NZD15.1 million), but no one was on board again.</p> <p>The home has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a gym, a bar and even a home hair salon, so it’s hard to see why no one wanted to snatch it up when it’s been on the market previously.</p> <p>The home was built in the 1930s and is on a massive 1.11-hectare block.</p> <p>The main bedroom suite has an elaborate marble bathroom, with a freestanding bathtub that features gold feet and taps.</p> <p>There’s also a luxurious dressing room, complete with chandelier. <p>Cancer con woman Belle Gibson has been caught out returning from a luxury trip overseas.</p> <p>Gibson convinced thousands of Australians that she was suffering from a brain tumour but healed herself due to natural remedies.</p> <p>As she was charged with five breaches of Australian Consumer Law, she was fined $AUD400,000 ($NZD 417,424) in 2017 as her empire crumbled around her. Inside Serena Williams’ lavish $4 million Florida mansion

<p>Tennis champions and sisters Serena and Venus Williams have put their jointly-owned Florida property up for sale, with the asking price set to a cool $3.8 million (US$2.7m).</p> <p>The enormous home is located in a Palm Beach Gardens golf community and comes complete with six bedrooms, eight bathrooms and 8,489 square feet of living space, so the lucky buyer is able to live comfortable and spaciously.</p> <p>The sisters purchased the mansion together in 1998 for $738,000, and then took it upon themselves to renovate the property, making it a completely customised home.</p> <p>Decorated with South Florida accents, the six bedrooms include two master suites.</p> <p>Also included is a gym, juice bar, pool and cabana. The home is filled with light and consists of an open floor plan.</p> <p>The kitchen has a vintage look and feel, with stone bench tops and an island right in the centre.</p> <p>Another added perk is that the two master suites also include their very own offices with floor-to-ceiling windows lighting up the space.</p> <p>Despite both sisters purchasing the property, Venus was the main occupant as Serena bought another home in Palm Beach Gardens in 2013.</p> <p>Scroll through the gallery above to look inside Serena and Venus’s lavish property.</p>

<p>Meghan Markle’s wedding dress will cost more than $AU700,000 as the budget for her royal wedding to Prince Harry begins to blow out.</p> <p>Dubbed Britain’s society wedding of the year, Meghan, 36, will wed royal Harry, 33, on May 19.</p> <p>According to <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a href="http://www.look.co.uk/" target="_blank">Look</a></strong></span>, the budget for the wedding has already doubled and a big reason is the cost of Meghan’s gown.</p> <p>“The wedding dress has been the biggest expense, and the budget has now doubled from what it originally was,” a source told the publication.</p> <p>Even Duchess Kate’s wedding dress didn’t cost that much. Prince George inherits lavish gift from Prince William

<p>Like any other two-year-old boy, Prince George loves playing with cars. His favourite at the moment is a toy tractor that George drives around the grounds of his Sandringham home.</p> <p>However, unlike two-year-old boys, George has just inherited arguably the best toy car ever. It’s a miniature Aston Martin V8 Volante, one of only 25 of the British-made model that were ever built. It uses to belong to his father, Prince William, who loved zipping around in it as a boy.</p> <p><img width="459" height="307" src="http://ghk.h-cdn.co/assets/16/02/768x514/gallery-1452616660-prince-george-car.jpg" class="swap-image zoomable lazy-loaded" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"/></p> <p>The vintage car was originally gifted to Prince Charles in 1988, who passed it to his sons. However, ever since the William and Harry outgrew the car, it has been sitting in the Sandringham museum waiting for a new royal owner.
