Identical twins give birth at exact same time

They say twins have a special bond, but these sisters have taken it to the next level. Leah Rodgers and Sarah Mariuz, 35-year-old twins living in two different cities, pulled off an incredibly unlikely feat, giving birth at exactly the same time.

Rodgers, who lives in Denver, Colorado, welcomed a boy at 1.18am last Thursday, the same time her sister gave birth to a baby girl in La Jolla California – more than 1,700km away.

“We've always lived in separate places, but all of us — we have two sisters — are very close in age and very close,” Rodgers told Today. “But certainly there's another connection at the twin level.”

The sisters insist that despite falling pregnant at the same time, they never planned on having children born close together, let alone at the exact same time. Rodgers claims her “twintuition” made her know instinctively that Mariuz was pregnant the second she arrived at the family’s Thanksgiving dinner, before she even announced her pregnancy. “We were jumping up and down, just so happy for each other.”

Incredible! What’s the uncanniest example of “twintuition” you’ve ever seen? Tell us about it in the comments below.
