Tourist arrested for disgusting act at sacred UNESCO World Heritage Site

A tourist has been arrested after he committed this disgusting act on top of the Leshan Giant Buddha, a sacred UNESCO World Heritage Site in China.

The man allegedly found a blind spot away from CCTV cameras, climbed over the security fence and on top of the statue.

Once he reached the top of the monuments head, he proceeded to pull down his pants and urinate in front of horrified visitors who filmed the act.

Security guards quickly removed the unidentified man and handed him over to police, after being informed of his actions.

It is reported that the man was taken to a nearby hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

The UNESCO World Heritage Site itself is a 71-metre-tall monument, which is considered to be the largest and tallest stone Buddha statue in the world.

The Leshan Giant Buddha monument is located in the Sichuan Province of China, and was carved out of a cliff face between 713 and 803 AD.

The statue and surrounding Mount Emei Scenic Area have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996.

This act is one of many incidences of tourists behaving badly across the world.

In June 2023 a German tourist was detained after climbing up a 16th-century Fountain of Neptune, and was accused of causing over $8,000 in damages to the iconic statue.

Prior to that, an Irish tourist landed himself into trouble in Rome after carving his and his girlfriend's name onto the walls of the Colosseum.

Images: News.com.au

FA Cup attendee arrested over "disgusting" Hillsborough shirt

A man has been arrested over the “disgusting” shirt he chose to wear while attending the FA Cup Final.

The garment, which appeared to refer to the 97 fans who lost their lives in the 1989 Hillsborough disaster, saw 33-year-old James White face charges over “displaying threatening or abusive writing likely to cause harassment, alarm, or distress”. The shirt featured the number 97 in a large font on the back, with the text “Not Enough” sprawled above it.

The 1989 tragedy occurred on April 15, when almost 100 people - consisting mostly of Liverpool supporters - were killed in a crowd crush at Hillsborough Stadium during an FA Cup Semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest. A further 766 people were injured.

Widespread attention was first brought to the offensive shirt when one Twitter user called for the “absolute clown to be identified”, asking how “97 people dying” had become “fair game”.

“Get this man’s face spread across social media ASAP,” another urged, “he needs to face repercussions.”

His image quickly made the rounds, with hundreds calling him out for his insensitive actions, and consequently White was arrested during the match.

The Metropolitan Police Events Twitter confirmed the news, sharing an update to their account that explained they had “worked proactively” with Wembley Stadium officials, and that the man had “been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and taken into custody.”

#ARREST | We are aware of this and have worked proactively with officials at @wembleystadium to identify the individual.

He has been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and taken into custody. https://t.co/PNVzEhKzgZ

— Metropolitan Police Events (@MetPoliceEvents) June 3, 2023

And in a statement from the FA, a spokesperson declared that the organisation “strongly condemns the actions of the individual who wore a shirt referencing the Hillsborough disaster”.

They went on to note that they had seen the photo on social media, and worked quickly to identify “the perpetrator”.

“We will not tolerate abuse relating to Hillsborough or any football tragedy at Wembley Stadium,” they said, “and we will continue to work with the authorities to ensure strong action is taken against perpetrators.”

Later, photos from the moment of his arrest were posted, with the Hillsborough Survivors Support Alliance tweeting that “this [should] be a warning to anyone else thinking of doing anything similar. And that goes for using ANY tragedy”, alongside an image of White surrounded by police officers.

Let this be a warning to anyone else thinking of doing anything similar. As they pointed out as well, “the game had nothin' to do with @LFC so what’s his motivation to commit such a disgraceful act!!!”

“It’s utterly disgusting and disgraceful that someone even printed it on the shirt for him!” one user agreed in the comments. “I got banned yesterday for sharing this photo with some swearing on…I seriously hope he gets what he deserves”.

“It’s absolutely disgusting,” another said. “I hope he gets what’s coming to him. I’m a Newcastle fan and I’ve been to a field and have laid flowers down and stood for a while thinking of those that sadly lost their lives that day. I’m disgusted beyond words. My love and thoughts go out to all”.

Images: Twitter

“Disgusting”: Wedding guest’s entitled RSVP slammed

A bride-to-be was left shocked after one entitled guest sent an RSVP back for her wedding with a list of “unhinged” demands.

The couple had sent an invitation for just two people, but they decided that this would be the perfect time for a family trip and RSVP’d for six people instead.

“We should arrive Thurs late afternoon in our motorhome. We have a screened-in cabana room. We can all sleep in our motorhome, we’ll need to hook up power,” they wrote in the invitation.

“We will need a ride to all wedding festivities. We would be happy to host a breakfast Friday morning for all at your home, took a lot of planning for us to make this trip. Looking forward to all the fun.”

The photo of the invitation, which was posted on Facebook, has since been slammed.

The photo was posted with the caption: “Shaming this guest who apparently is bringing the whole family when just two people were invited AND making travel accommodation demands, all while guilt-tripping the guide. Update: [the] couple has rescinded their invite to this guest”.

A lot of people were outraged on the bride’s behalf, and shocked at the audacity of some wedding guests.

“Disgusting. You call and talk to make plans even if they were close enough, which it doesn’t seem like they are, to make these requests,” wrote one person.

“Wow. No. It’s wild to me that people think they can still bring extra guests, let alone make the logistics of their transportation on the day of the wedding the bride and groom’s problem. How are some people so oblivious?” commented another person.

“I’m still stuck on the audacity to write down six [guests] when it sounds like the invite specified only two,” commented a third.

Others shared their own wedding invitation horror stories.

“We had a guest try to bring a partner and five uninvited kids (some adults), when we said it wasn't possible they acted like we were unreasonable and said we could just 'pull up a few extra chairs to a table’,” one person revealed.

To which another quipped: “This also happened to me, but the intended invitees (my cousin and her husband) crossed their names out and put her mum and dad, brother AND his wife down as attending ‘in her place’. We tried so hard to circumvent problems by putting each person’s full name on the RSVP card and it still happens”.

Images: Facebook

“This is disgusting”: Mural for murdered women defaced with graffiti

A street artist has been captured painting over a mural depicting the names and photos of women murdered across Australia in acts of domestic violence.

The mural, plastered on Melbourne’s famous Hosier Lane, depicts some of the almost 80 women killed since the start of 2023, and the locations they died around Australia.

The mural also shows the alarming statistics of domestic violence across Australia in data compiled by The RED HEART Campaign - an ongoing memorial project dedicated to tracking the known women and children killed in acts of gendered violence.

The mural was painted in the lane on International Women’s Day (March 8th), and was defaced just 10 days later.

An unknown street artist was captured on video spray painting over the women’s faces, with the words “13 WOLF 69” covering most of the mural, as the beginning of a large orange text covering the southeast corner of the map.

When murdered women are erased for the second time! #femicide #shematters pic.twitter.com/TYpLQFmpCx

— Sherele Moody (Femicide Researcher) 🌈 (@ShereleMoody) March 18, 2023

The video, posted by the campaign founder Sherele Moody, then pans slowly to capture the artist still spraying the wall with orange paint – what seem to be the finishing touches to the large piece that stretches for metres toward Flinders Street.

“That’s more important, that’s lovely,” someone can be heard sarcastically saying in the footage.

“That’s not even art!”

Sherele captioned the video as an example of “when murdered women are erased for a second time”.

“The dude could have moved his scribble a few feet and not painted over the faces of murdered women,” she added.

“The Lane is pretty big – there’s room for all of us!”

Supporters of the campaign immediately reacted in disgust to the “selfish, heartless artist”, with many saying the disregard for the mural really “hurts”.

“What the actual f,” one woman wrote.

“This is disgusting. This is about murdered women and a memorial. When did we become so disrespectful.”

While most of the backlash was in support of the advocates, others questioned whether the artist was even aware of what he had done or was partially covering.

Others simply said it was the harsh nature of Melbourne’s internationally renowned street art culture.

“You are disgusting”: Prince William accuses man of stalking his children

The Cambridges seem to be embroiled in a row with YouTube, after the family claim a video that breaches their privacy has been viewed thousands of times despite attempts to block it.

The video, which clocked 20,000 views on Monday according to the NZ Herald, shows Prince William confronting a photographer after he was filmed on a bike ride with his family near Sandringham, Norfolk, sometime last year.

William is seen reproaching the man, who was videoing the prince, while Kate and their three children are off-camera nearby.

Obsessed with Prince William kicking off pic.twitter.com/NgKgyU5eLZ

— I Don't Know Her (@l_dont_know_her) June 27, 2022

“If you want to have this altercation we can have this altercation,” William says in the clip, while appearing to be calling someone on his mobile phone.

Kate can be heard in the background, telling the man, “We came with our children.”

“I know, I know, I just realised who it was and I’ve stopped,” the man said.

“You didn’t, you’re out here looking for us,” William replied.

“You drove past us outside our house, I saw you,” Kate said, which the man denied doing.

The man claimed he wasn’t following the family, to which William replies: “Yes you are, you are stalking around here looking for our children”.

The Duke of Cambridge then references the incident where the man followed the family while on a bike ride, lashing out when the man denies following them.

“You are outrageous, you are disgusting, you really are. How dare you behave like that,” William says.

The short clip was uploaded over the weekend, over a year after the incident occurred.

Kensington Palace has responded by claiming the clip is a breach of the family’s privacy, with William shown to be on a private bike ride with his family, who were blurred out in the video.

It is understood that staff are seeking the removal of the video in line with their usual policy about privacy, which seems to have been successful as of publication.

However, versions of the clip continue to circulate on other social media platforms, including TikTok and Twitter.

The balance between William’s family’s privacy and their roles in the public eye is something he has spent many years negotiating with the British media, in which he has authorised a small number of photographs of the children to be released each year while insisting on otherwise total privacy.

Traditional British print media doesn’t publish videos or photos of the royal family in private situations, particularly when Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are involved.

But images are often posted on social media and sold to European publications working under different laws.

A spokesperson for YouTube is yet to comment on the situation.

Image: Twitter

Podcast hosts slammed for disgusting remarks about women's postpartum bodies

Image: Getty

The male hosts of a concerning new podcast have received major backlash over comments made claiming they’d leave their future wife if she didn’t lose weight after giving birth.

Brothers Anthony Casasanta and Nick Casasanta launched “The No Filter Pod” earlier this month with friend Jason Girratano – describing it as “the most blunt podcast in the world”.

While their show is deliberately “controversial”, many are condemning the show over comments made by Anthony about a potential future wife’s body after she gives birth to his child.

The comments have been quickly gone viral, with women branding them “disgusting”, “horrendous” and “God awful”.

In a statement issued to news.com.au, “The No Filter Pod” said the comments had been taken “out of context” but doubled down on the controversial remarks.

“We just don’t want our wives to be obese. We feel as if society promotes obesity which is a very unhealthy and uncomfortable way of living.

“We promote healthy lifestyles here at NoFilterPod. It’s also not only about weight gain after childbirth, it’s also about mental health as well as the physical health. We feel like it’s very important to hold spouses both men and women to a high standard.”

The backlash was sparked by the men themselves, who all play NFL in the US, after they shared the clip on TikTok, asking: “Is this too much?”

“If my wife lets herself go after I have kids with her, I’m going to tell her once,” Anthony tells Nick and Jason.

“‘If you don’t get your sh*t together, because I still want to be sexually attracted to my wife, my spouse, but if you can’t do that, I’m out’.”

The guys said they were prepared a negative reaction but received an avalanche of a response, predominantly condemning the view and labelling it “misogynistic”.

“We really feel as the video was taken out of context,” the trio said in a statement.

“We will not be apologising.”

Women have fought back in droves, with many creating videos in response to the clip, while others flooded the guys social media feeds with their thoughts forcing the podcast hosts to turn off comments.

“Where is the respect, the love, the admiration for his partner. I actually feel sorry for him. Clearly he has no idea what love is,” one woman said.

As one simply stated: “I can’t even comment on this cus the outrage is just UNREAL.”

Comments on the guys’ personal Instagram accounts, which haven’t yet been disabled, displayed a similar response.

“You’ve made a fool of yourself and you’ve made an already foolish world more worrisome,” one raged.

“Why are you turning off your comments? yallll are a joke and can’t take the heat,” another lamented.

Anthony, Nick and Jason have claimed they are receiving death threats over the outcry but have continued to post clips on TikTok on topics surrounding cheating, “fitness chicks” and female vs male value.

According to the boys, girls who workout are “superior to all women”, calling them “top of the line”.

They also reckon “girls cheat more than guys” and women seek “financial security from their husbands” citing that all they ask for in return is that “you don’t sleep around with like 50 other dudes”.

These statements have obviously not gone down well, with words such as “repulsive”, “vile” and “red flag” being used to describe them in the comments.

Woman shares disgusting discovery lurking in her hairbrush

A woman on TikTok has shared her disgusting discovery she made when she decided to wash her hair brushes for the first time, and has warned others not to make the same mistake.

The woman shared the video of her deciding to wash her brushes after seeing a salon owner cleanse her hair tools in order to prevent your hair from getting greasy.

She placed her hair brush in her bathroom sink with hot water and shampoo for a deep clean.

After leaving the brushes for an hour, the woman returned to the bathroom to find the water had gone brown.

“Oh my god, that’s disgusting,” she exclaimed.

"Ladies, don't forget to wash your hairbrushes. I didn't even know that was a thing. Look at the state of that."

The video has been viewed over 3.8 million times, with her followers also sharing their shock at the results.

"I'm buying a new hair brush and starting from scratch," one person commented.

"Goes and washes hair brushes now," another said.

While most people were shocked at the idea, some were surprised that this didn’t seem to be a well known fact.

"This confuses me that people didn't know this. It's the same as washing your makeup brushes," one person pointed out.

The salon owner who posted the original video said that a dirty hairbrush could be the reason people suffer from greasy hair.

As you use your brush, the grease and oil from your hair builds up and sits in your brush until it’s next use, and ends up getting transferred back to your hair.

So, go and wash your hair brushes and see if you can see the difference in your hair.

Woolworths accused of “disgusting” Anzac biscuit scandal

Woolworths has rejected claims it renamed Anzac biscuits after social media outrage caused by a recent recipe in one of its catalogues.

Posts appearing on Facebook and Twitter suggested the supermarket giant had succumbed to “cancel culture” by removing the word Anzac from its biscuit recipes.

In the lead-up to Anzac Day, Woolworths featured a recipe for Golden Oat Biscuits in one of its catalogues.

Noticing the striking similarity between the oat biscuits and the traditional Anzac biscuits, one person claimed, “Woolworths in their woke wisdom has changed the name of Anzac biscuits calling them golden oats because it may insult some people.”

Another shopper claimed the name change was “disgusting and a slap in the face for our Anzacs”, vowing to never shop at the supermarket again.

Clarification came when a spokesperson told Yahoo News Australia the biscuits were not called Anzac Day biscuits out of respect for the strict guidelines set by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.

“The Department of Veterans’ Affairs has strict regulations around the word Anzac and how it can be used on products or in marketing,” they said.

“We didn’t have the relevant approvals to use the term for this particular recipe placement in the catalogue and wanted to ensure we respected the regulations.”

Companies considering using the word Anzac in their products need to be approved by the department first, which Woolworths did not pursue in this instance.

Yahoo News Australia understands the Golden Oat Biscuits recipe has featured in previous catalogues.

The spokesperson reiterated Anzac biscuits were still available to purchase and had been approved for sale, with proceeds helping raise funds for veterans and their families.

Yahoo News Australia also reached out to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs to clarify on what the approved recipe is and whether Woolworths recipe would have been approved if an application had been submitted.

Comparing a 2014 recipe published by the department against the Woolworths recipe, both recipes feature the same ingredients but they use varying measures.

According to the guidelines, “The use of the word ‘Anzac’ in the commercial production and sale of Anzac biscuits is usually approved, however the biscuits must not substantially deviate from the generally accepted recipe and shape, and must be referred to as ‘Anzac Biscuits’”.

The biscuits must avoid any additions such as chocolate chips and must not be called cookies.

Doctors uncover disgusting find in man’s unbearably blocked nose

Zhang Binsheng, 30, went to the doctors after struggling to breathe for the last three months. His symptoms were so severe that he could not sleep properly at night and reported smelling “decay” out of one nostril.

The doctors advised him to undergo an X-ray, where a shadow of ‘high density’ material was uncovered at the back of his nasal cavity.

Zhang was left stunned when medics explained that it was his own tooth.

“(It) looked a lot like a tooth,” Dr Bai Zhibang, a deputy director at the hospital’s ear, nose and throat department, told Pear Video.

The tooth had been knocked out of Zhang’s mouth when he fell from the fourth floor of a mall at the age of ten and had managed to root and grow in his nasal cavity.

This means that the tooth had been growing in Zhang’s nose for the last twenty years.

Doctor Guo Longmei explained that the reason that the body hadn’t rejected the tooth was because it was Zhangs and not a ‘foreign object’.

The tooth measured at 1cm and was removed from Zhang’s nose in a 30-minute surgery. “They are truly disgusting”: Are you making this mistake while cleaning your kitchen?

One university hygiene expert has warned the public that an item in your kitchen must be avoided at all costs.

It’s a single rectangular sponge, and according to Professor Marylouise McLaws, who’s a germ and hygiene expert at the University of New South Wales, this item is “truly disgusting”.

She told Yahoo News Australia that people should be more wary of the good old kitchen sponge.

“They are truly disgusting. I recommend people don’t use them at all,” Professor McLaws said.

“Those sponges are full of water and can contain bacteria that can cause an upset stomach. A small amount of that bacteria in the water can give it the perfect environment to breed in.”

Professor McLaws said that a “perfect storm” for bacteria is when the sponge is taken to a kitchen bench that has already been contaminated by regular household items and their germs, such as from bags, animals, backpacks and other items from outside.

“I dislike them intensely. They could be used on the floor, but should certainly never be used on dishes after that,” Professor McLaws said.

Professor McLaws encourages people to use paper towels with soapy water or mild bleach spray instead of using bacteria-ridden sponges.

“You have no idea if the cat has jumped up on it [the kitchen bench], and what kind of things are being brought in on the bottom of shopping bags,” she said.

She also reminded people that they should clean “high-touch” areas.

“These include places like the fridge handle, the dishwasher and other nobs and handles that are used frequently by multiple people,” she said.

A warning is in place for the use of tea towels, as these are breeding grounds for bacteria as well.

“Viruses and bacteria can just sit on tea towels. Households wanting to cut down on sick days should use a different towel for hands and dishes,” Professor McLaws said.

However, towels in the bathroom are only usually used by one person and can be washed once a week.
