It's The Irwins star’s first birthday as a mother to baby Grace Warrior Irwin Powell, who was born in March this year.</span><br /><br /><span>Bindi's mother Terri Irwin was one of the first to wish her daughter a happy birthday on July 24, after taking to Twitter to post a sweet message alongside an image of Bindi, Terri, and the late Steve Irwin.</span><br /><br /><span>"Happy birthday, beautiful Bindi. The devastating reality behind Steve Irwin’s unearthed letter

<p>A bitter family feud has taken centre stage after Bindi Irwin accused her grandfather of psychologically abusing her.</p> <p>The embattled family’s long standing issues are a far cry from the heartbreaking letter uncovered in 2016.</p> <p>It was a note Steve wrote when he was 32, and in it he detailed his gratitude for his parents and their strength.</p> <p><img style="width: 500px; height: 281.25px;" src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/7842052/irwin-family.jpg" alt="" data-udi="umb://media/3be7bdc1b37f42dc91d44a7ead0d05aa" /></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><em>Image: Supplied</em></p> <p>“At 32, I am finally starting to figure it out. You’re my best friends!”</p> <p>Irwin’s letter would not be found for almost a decade, but four years after writing it, the conservationist would give birth to his daughter Bindi with Robert closely following behind.</p> <p><img style="width: 500px; height: 281.25px;" src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/7842049/irwin-family-1.jpg" alt="" data-udi="umb://media/cf7fcf216cc34686aee648fff4d38625" /></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><em>Image: Supplied</em></p> <p>Today’s bitter feud is nothing short of devastating, with Bindi insisting her grandfather has never had a kind word to say about her.</p> <p>The star made the unsettling allegations against Bob in her Father’s Day post (Father’s Day outside of Australia was June 20), which she dedicated to her own father, her husband, Chandler Powell, and her father-in-law.</p> <p>When Bindi was asked why she left Bob out of the tribute, the new mum did not hold back in her reply.</p> <p>“Unfortunately my grandfather Bob has shown no interest in spending time with me or my family,” she wrote.</p> <p>“He has returned gifts I’ve sent him after he opened them, he has ignored my correspondence and from the time I was a little girl he has ignored me, preferring to spend time doing anything else rather than being with me.</p> <p>“He has never said a single kind word to me personally. It breaks my heart but it is not healthy to engage in an abusive relationship.</p> <p><img style="width: 500px; height: 281.25px;" src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/7842050/irwin-family-2.jpg" alt="" data-udi="umb://media/513951de9115451b9cc3fdcb442a965d" /></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><em>Image: Supplied</em></p> <p>“I hope everyone remembers to be kind to one another but most of all care for your own mental health,” she added.</p> <p>“I have struggled with this relationship my entire life and it brings me enormous pain.”</p> <p>Close friends and family members of Bob Irwin quickly rebutted the claims, including his biographer Amanda French.</p> <p>French, who co-wrote Bob’s 2016 autobiography <em>The Last Crocodile Hunter</em>, spoke to Brisbane radio show <em>Stav, Abby and Matt</em> to express her immense grief over Bindi’s comments.</p> <p>According to Amanda, Bob resigned from Australia Zoo in 2008 and hasn’t seen his grandkids since.</p> <p>“It’s a surprise with what Bindi came out and said. There were some pretty weighty terms that were thrown around, psychological abuse and all that stuff. You’d have to have some pretty big evidence to back that. It’s a pretty big call to make,” she said.</p> <p>Another member of the Irwin family, Bethany Wheeler, went on to angrily dispute Bindi’s claims in a Facebook post.</p> <p>Bethany revealed that she is the “the granddaughter of Bob Irwin via marriage of my father and my Stepmother Mandy as a very young child.”</p> <p>She went on to call Bob “the most genuinely beautiful human on this planet and has NEVER spoken out or put down anybody! He is a man who sits silently and battles his demons alone, in what is great sadness. He didn’t see eye-to-eye on issues to do with Australia Zoo at the time and some of the animals.”</p> <p>In the wake of the international media storm, Bindi announced she would be “taking a break” from social media as a means to protect her mental health.</p> <p>“I’m taking a break from social media and most of my work in the public eye for a month to be with my beautiful daughter and my wonderful family,” she wrote on Instagram.</p> <p>“I feel tremendously grateful to share our life and conservation work with you but I need some time to focus on the happiness that is my family (both human and animal).”</p> <p>Terri Irwin also posted a cryptic yet seemingly pointed message on her own social media.</p> <p>Taking to Twitter, she shared a post about “avoiding certain people” just days after the family’s feud made headlines.</p> <p>The full quote was penned by author and military veteran Steve Maraboli, and reads: “Avoiding certain people to protect your mental health is not a weakness … It’s wisdom.”</p> <p>She captioned the snap, “Thank you @SteveMaraboli. Another jewel. Caring for others seems to be easier than caring for ourselves.</p> <p>“It takes courage to follow through on what we know is the right thing to do. Bob Irwin’s friend sets the record straight: “He hasn’t been back to Australia Zoo"

After a while of that, Bob returned one of the gifts.”</p> <p>Amanda also set the record straight on Bindi’s comments about how her family was continuing to financially support Bob, despite having a fractured relationship with him.</p> <p>She said Bob gifted the sanctuary to Steve and Irwin when they got married.</p> <p>“He gave them that zoo.</p> <p>“There was always an agreement that he would be on a pension and looked after.”</p> <p>She went on to say it’s been difficult for Bob, who cannot visit his son’s burial site as it is located in the zoo.</p> <p>“It’s hard for him not to be able to return to his son’s resting place as you can understand,” she revealed.</p> <p>“He hasn’t been back to Australia Zoo since the wildlife hospital was launched in 2008. I organised that event and I remember him turning up on the day and sitting in the audience looking very upset.”</p> <p>Amanda, who has a close relationship with the family, maintained that Bob is a good person.</p> <p>So much so in fact, that many staff members have left the zoo under Terri’s management due to similar issues that Bob had.</p> <p>“When I went back to write the book and spoke to those key people who worked with Bob and Steve, there was still some bad blood there with how they were treated. Bindi Irwin’s new bub makes some new friends at Australia Zoo

She’ll likely have it in the birthing suite, too, when Bindi has her baby!”</p> <p>"Terri's one step ahead of the game, as usual, and is pulling it all together for a really lush documentary. <p>Robert Irwin is celebrating his 17th birthday, and his older sister Bindi has paid homage to the teen croc hunter the best way she knows how.</p> <p>While Bindi has reached the halfway milestone in her pregnancy, it didn’t stop her from penning an emotional tribute to her brother on his special day.</p> <p>"Happy birthday to my amazing brother! Your kind heart and fantastic sense of humour makes my every day," she wrote alongside some photos of Robert walking her down the aisle at her wedding in March.</p> <p>"Our baby girl is going to love her 'funcle' [fun uncle] so very much. You're one of the brightest lights the world has ever seen. I'll always be here for you. Love you!"</p> <p>Robert replied to his sister's message in the comments section writing, "Bindi!! Terri Irwin sweetly reveals Steve Irwin's dying wish

<p>Terri Irwin has revealed the promise she made to her late husband Steve Irwin before his tragic death.</p> <p>She opened up about the crocodile hunter's dying wish in a new documentary called <em>Crikey! It's the Irwins: Life in Lockdown</em>.</p> <p>She explained that she promised Steve that she would continue to run the zoo he established on the Sunshine Coast and it would continue operate.</p> <p>"He said to me, if anything happens to me, just make sure Australia Zoo continues. Tributes flow in upon the passing of Monty Python's Terry Jones

<p>Monty Python stars Michael Palin and John Cleese have led the tributes to Terry Jones, who has died at the age of 77.</p> <p>The actor and writer died at his North London home on Tuesday evening, four years after he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.</p> <p>“His work with Monty Python, his books, films, television programs, poems and other work will live on forever, a fitting legacy to a true polymath,” Jones’ family said in a statement.</p> <p>“We, his wife Anna, children Bill, Sally, Siri and extended family would like to thank Terry’s wonderful medical professionals and carers for making the past few years not only bearable but often joyful. Bindi Irwin reveals her favourite wedding planning moment so far

<p>Wedding planning continues for the bride and groom-to-be, Chandler Powell and Bindi Irwin. </p> <p>The 21-year-old is proving to be well-prepared so far and has already locked in the Australia Zoo for her venue as well as her wedding gown. </p> <p>Now, Bindi is focussing her attention on another major feature for her big day: the wedding cake.</p> <p>The wildlife star shared a photo of herself, her fiance, her mother Terri Irwin and loved ones as they sampled a number of flavours while wedding cake testing on Sunday. </p> <p>Wedding cake tasting together has been one of the best planning moments so far. I'm beyond grateful to have the love and support of this amazing group in my life," the daughter of the late Steve Irwin wrote in the caption of the adorable picture. </p> <p>"This might have been my favorite planning moment yet." Chandler wrote not too soon after the photo was posted. </p> <p>Last month, Bindi’s little brother, Robert, revealed his sister is already completely invested in her wedding planning just months after Chandler proposed with a gorgeous two-carat,m vintage oval diamond on July 24 - Bindi’s 21st birthday. </p> <p>"This might have been my favorite planning moment yet."</p> <p>"Bindi is in planning mode, she's incredible. <p>Bindi Irwin is set to wed Chandler Powell next year at Australia Zoo and now Bindi Irwin has revealed she will honour her late father, the iconic Steve Irwin, at the ceremony. </p> <p>The conservationist and animal expert has been carrying out the Crocodile hunter’s legacy since he passed away in 2006 alongside her family, revealed that her brother and mother will become an important part of the special day. </p> <p>“I really want to include Dad on the day and make sure that he is with us in some way,” Bindi told<span> </span>People.</p> <p>“Just little bits of Dad that will make it feel like he’s there with us.”</p> <p>Bindi says her and Chandler will hold a candle lighting ceremony for Steve. </p> <p>“So we’ll be able to all get up as a little family and light a candle in his honour and share a few words on what an amazing dad he was and still is.”</p> <p>Bindi announced her engagement to Chandler on her 21st birthday in July, after the couple had been dating for over six years. </p> <p>Steve irwin passed away on the documentary series<span> </span>Ocean’s Deadliest<span> </span>when he was attacked by a stingray off the coast of the Great Barrier Reef on September 4, 2006. He was 44. </p> <p>“Out of everyone in our family, Dad would always get the most emotional out of everyone,” Bindi said. </p> <p>“We’re all very emotional people, but Dad, anytime we would achieve anything as kids, he would just start crying. </p> <p>“I remember the first time I ever filmed with little ants on camera, I was telling the camera that these little ants are so important to protect and he just started crying.”</p> <p>“It was really special that he was the one that was so excited about the big moments in our lives and there isn’t a bigger moment that I can think of than getting married to Chandler,” she added. </p> <p>“It’s going to be a really special day.”</p>

Why Steve Irwin didn’t want kids with wife Terri

<p>Terri Irwin has revealed that she and late husband Steve were not planning to have children.</p> <p>In a new interview with <a href="https://www.pressreader.com/australia/who/20190128/282102047847575"><em>Who</em><span> </span>magazine</a>, the 54-year-old mother of two said they were not thinking of having children until six years into their marriage.</p> <p>The couple, who starred in <em>The Crocodile Hunter</em> together until Steve’s death in 2006, got married in 1992.</p> <p>“When we got married, Steve said, ‘I’m just an action man. I don’t know how we would ever have kids.’ And I didn’t feel strongly one way or another,” said Terri.</p> <p>“But after almost six years of marriage, he burst through the door one evening and said, ‘We’ve got to have children! Who do we leave all this to? Who will carry it on?’</p> <p>“I go, ‘Just because you have children doesn't mean they'll like or do what you do’. He said, ‘Nope! We have to have children and they will love wildlife and so this’.”</p> <p>They later welcomed daughter Bindi in 1998 and son Robert in 2003.</p> <p>At one point, Steve was considering leaving television to spend more time with their children. </p> <p>“I remember him saying to me, ‘I don’t think I’m going to film anymore, I think I’m just going to spend time with my kids’,” Terri told the ABC’s <em>Anh's Brush With Fame</em>.</p> <p>“He never thought he would have a long life. He had this sense that his life would be cut short.”</p> <p>Steve died in 2006 at the age of 44 during a documentary shooting, where he was attacked by a stingray in Batt Reef, Queensland.</p> <p>Terri, Bindi and Robert are now starring in <em>Crikey! <p>It’s been 12 years since Aussie icon Steve Irwin was killed in a freak accident, but the Crocodile Hunter’s wife is still in no rush to get back out onto the dating scene.</p> <p>In a new interview with <a href="http://people.com/tv/terri-irwin-hasnt-dated-since-steve/" target="_blank"><em><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">People</span></strong></em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><em> </em>magazine</strong></span></a>, the 53-year-old admitted she hasn’t been on one date since Steve’s death, explaining, “I’ve already had my happily ever after.”</p> <p>The mum-of-two added, “I think it’s wonderful when people who have lost someone find love again, but I’m not personally looking. </p> <p>“In fact, it’s been so long, I’ve had a couple of lovely women ask me out because they figured that’s the case. But I’m content. I have two beautiful kids, a really full plate.”</p> <p>But it hasn’t been easy for Terri, and her children Bindi and Robert. </p> <p>“No matter the circumstances are that you lose someone, nobody’s truly prepared,” Terri explained. “Steve’s accident was so unexpected, it was extremely challenging.”</p> <p>And although she misses him every day, Terri says the family is now focused on carrying on his legacy.</p> <p>“Steve was someone who was larger than life and really did live life to the fullest,” she says. </p> <p>“Even though he died at 44, years of age he lived such a full life and that’s what I want to do and share.”</p> <p><em>Image credit: Bindi Irwin/Instagram.</em></p>

<p>Robert Irwin has shared a photograph of himself in a hospital bed, after undergoing emergency surgery on New Year’s Day to have his appendix removed.</p> <p>While the rest of us rung in the New Year, the <a href="http://www.oversixty.com.au/entertainment/technology/2017/12/bindi-irwin-shares-emotional-tribute-to-her-mother-terri/" target="_blank"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>14-year-old son of Steve Irwin</strong></span></a> was reportedly suffering from appendicitis and had no choice but to go under the knife.</p> <p>But, as the photo indicates, Robert seems to be on the mend.</p> <p><img width="471" height="524" src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/7266897/robert-irwin-in-texyt.jpg" alt="Robert Irwin In Texyt"/></p> <p><em>Image credit: Instagram / Robert Irwin</em></p> <p>Robert posted the image with this caption: “Kicking off the new year with emergency surgery.
