What’s wrong with this terrifying photo?

<p>Passengers aboard the <a href="http://www.oversixty.com.au/travel/travel-insurance-articles/2018/04/mid-air-disaster-woman-partially-sucked-out-of-plane/" target="_blank"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>troubled Southwest Airlines flight from New York to Dallas</strong></span></a> which saw an engine explode mid-flight have captured the terrifying scenes with their phone, posting on social media to document the experience.</p> <p>But an eagle-eyed flight attendant has noticed something very wrong with the photo.</p> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"> <p dir="ltr">PEOPLE: Listen to your flight attendants! ALMOST EVERYONE in this photo from <a href="https://twitter.com/SouthwestAir?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@SouthwestAir</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/SWA1380?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#SWA1380</a> today is wearing their mask WRONG. Put down the phone, stop with the selfies.. and LISTEN. **Cover your NOSE &amp; MOUTH. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/crewlife?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#crewlife</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/psa?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#psa</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/listen?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#listen</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/travel?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#travel</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/news?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#news</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/wn1380?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#wn1380</a> <a href="https://t.co/4b14lZulGm">pic.twitter.com/4b14lZulGm</a></p> — Bobby Laurie (@BobbyLaurie) <a href="https://twitter.com/BobbyLaurie/status/986306926937075713?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 17, 2018</a></blockquote> <p>“Listen to your flight attendants!” wrote Bobby Laurie. “ALMOST EVERYONE in this photo from @SouthwestAir #SWA1380 today is wearing their mask WRONG.”</p> <p>As you can see in the photo above, most of the people on the plane have masks over their mouths only. This means if the pilots had not managed to take the aircraft down to a level where the cabin air is pressurised, they would not have been able to breath.</p> <p>“Had they not been able to safely and quickly.. there would have been a different outcome,” added Mr Laurie. “Flight Attendants are aviations FIRST responders. Listen!”</p> <p><iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fmarty.martinez.96%2Fvideos%2F10211397296550342%2F&amp;show_text=0&amp;width=560" width="560" height="315" style="border: none; overflow: hidden;" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" allowfullscreen="true"></iframe></p> <p>Mr Laurie also criticised travellers for playing with their phones and taking selfies during the safety instructions, with others echoing his concerns on social media.</p> <p>“I’ve done the safety demo about hundreds of times at work and each time I do it only half of the passengers look up and watch,” wrote Nicole Froehling. “Please people pay attention it’s very important information.”</p> <p><span>Blair Keetch, an avid traveller who books more than 250 flights a year, added: “At the very least, it’s polite not to ignore them and it’s possible that this could be life-saving info!”</span></p> <p>What are your thoughts? Do you think the criticism is warranted?</p> <p><em>Hero image credit: Twitter / Southwest Airlines</em></p>
