Woman dies after falling from cruise ship balcony

Fingers are being pointed after a woman tragically died falling from a cruise ship balcony, just one year after a 24-year-old man died the same way on the same ship.

The woman, who has not been officially identified, was aboard the Carnival Elation travelling from Jacksonville, Florida to Freeport in The Bahamas.

While specific details of the incident are yet to be released, it’s believed the woman fell from her cabin’s balcony onto the deck below, and while the ship’s medical team responded promptly, there was nothing that could be done.

“The incident was reported to all proper authorities and CARE Team support was offered to fellow travellers and her family,” said Carnival spokesman Vance Gulliksen.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the deceased and her family.”

This is the second time in the past calendar someone has passed away after falling off the balcony of the Carnival Elation, with the same thing happening to a 24-year-old man.

What are your thoughts?
