The common flying incident that can cause severe damage

A plane has suffered severe damage to its nose after encountering a bird strike head on.

The damage suffered to the plane was just metres away from the pilot’s cockpit.

The photos of the aftermath of the bird strike reveal a crumpled nose of a Boeing 737.

The Badr Airlines flight J4341 was travelling to Khartoum International Airport in the capital of Sudan, from Ad Damazin.

Thankfully, the pilot managed to land safely despite the severe damage the plane suffered.

A few weeks ago, a British Airways flight was forced to return to Heathrow after suffering suspected engine failure due to a reported bird strike.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) has revealed that occurrences involving aircraft striking wildlife, particularly birds, are the most common aviation incidents reported.

From 2006-2015, there were 16,069 bird strikes reported to the ATSB.
