Buckingham Palace staff member tests positive for Coronavirus

A staffer employed at Buckingham Palace has been tested positive with the coronavirus as the Queen fled her home to be in isolation at presumably Windsor Castle.

The aide who will remain unidentified fell ill and tested positive with COVID-19 earlier last week, before Her 93-year-old Majesty was moved from the palace in a bid to protect herself.

“The worker tested positive before the Queen left for Windsor [Castle],” a royal insider told UK paper, The Sun.

“The Palace has 500 members of staff so, like any workplace, it’s not inconceivable it would be affected in some stage,” the source went on to say.

Royal Household staff who may have been in contact with the infected royal aide has been ordered to go into self-isolation.

It is unknown as to just how close the worker got to the Queen while they were indeed infected by the virus.

The palace told the UK publication they could not comment “on individual members of staff.”

“In line with the appropriate guidance and our own processes, we have taken the necessary actions to protect all employees and people involved,” a palace spokeswoman said.

The news follows closely behind reports that Her Majesty is planning to address her nation amid nationwide panic about escalating deaths and infections.
