Horror as window cracks on flight

Terrified passengers were left fearing for their lives when heavy turbulence rocked an Air India flight from Amritsar to Delhi, causing one of the plane’s windows to fall out.

This incident, which occurred days after a similar tragedy on a Southwest Airlines flight, was captured on one of the passenger’s camera phones. The 240 people onboard the Boeing 787 Dreamliner look visibly distressed as the flight attendant attempts to force the dislodged window back in its place.

News.com.au reports the turbulence rocked the plane shortly after takeoff as it reached 15,000ft, and lasted almost half of the journey.

At lease three of the passengers onboard were injured.

A probe into the incident has reportedly been launched by aviation regulator the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Board (AAIB).

What are your thoughts? Do you think the aviation industry is dropping its standards?
