Orient Express-style vintage railway carriages

We’ve all seen the gorgeous 100-year-old Victorian train carriage that’s been transformed into a luxury cottage, but you have to wonder, what did it look like in its heyday? If you’re a fan of heritage sites and plush, period design, this is sure to tickle all of your fancies.

This secluded mountain-top retreat is home to meticulously restored heritage railway carriages, perched high on the Great Dividing Range in Cooks Gap, Australia. The once dilapidated railyard faced a fate in the scrap heap. However, Better Homes and Gardens TV host and renovator extraordinaire Scott Mcgregor rescued the gem, turning it into something quite special.

The property features opulent accommodation in orient express style railway carts. The carriages are surrounded by extensive gardens, museum pieces, a generous fire pit and outdoor dining sets to rival the vintage charm of properties interiors.

Complete with a dining car, two luxury sleeping cars and even a "Ruwenzori Station" games room, be whisked away by the sumptuous splendour as you indulge in a piece of history.
