Incredible photos capture annual migration of 120 million crabs

The world’s biggest land crab migration has commenced with millions of red crustaceans starting their annual trek to the ocean on Christmas Island.

The crimson-red procession is world renowned, with tourist flocking to the island to catch a glimpse of this rare spectacle.

Photographer Kirsty Faulkner, 38, from Perth, Australia, managed to snap a collection of stunning images with her son, Josh.

Faulkner, who has lived on the island for eight years, said: “I still get excited about every migration - it is truly the most amazing natural event I have witnessed, I just love it.”
