1. “Avoid getting a cabin under the children's activity area. Sounded like a herd of elephants all day and late into the night. We asked to be moved after a couple of days.” – Anne Elsner

2. “Didn’t realise that central cabins have no daylight. With no watch, I had no idea whether I had slept 24 hours or 2.” – Jackie A Morris

3. “Ticking the box that says you will accept an upgrade... it's never an upgrade, they simply move you to a cabin they cannot sell so they have more luck with yours!” – Ron Whalan

4. “Last year, my daughter and I booked close to the bow going to NZ. Not a good idea as it was quite rough. Didn't have much choice but still had a great time.” – Penny Button

5. “I learned not to ever use a travel agent again. If I ever go on another one I will book direct with the cruise line. People who did that paid much less than what I did.” – Ruth Hourigan

6. “Never room with someone you don't know just to get a cheaper cruise.” – Jannette Naiken

7. “A last minute deal, didn't pick my cabin, and ended up underneath the buffet workers. They worked all night cleaning, restocking, trolleys being pushed all night and things dropped. Now I always pick my cabin and always check I'm not under the pool after a cruise I was on got flooded when the pool leaked. Always have cabins above and below. Also get the cabins at the end of corridors as you don't get drunk noisy party goers waking you up as they return to their cabins.” – Derek and Janice Taylor

8. “We were at the end of the ship and the walk to the lift was a chore, we found when we got home we had lost weight from all the walking so I'm booking at the end of the ship again.” – Christina Smith

9. “I always have a balcony otherwise I don't bother. Don't get cabins at either end but get cabin in the middle and from seventh floor up.” – Judy Muller
