Dramatic footage shows sick passenger airlifted off luxury cruise

The Italian Coast Guard airlifted a sick cruise passenger into their helicopter near the island of Capri.

The Austrian passenger was suspected to have suffered a stroke while on the Albatros cruise ship, owned by German company Phoenix Reisen.

The cruise ship was travelling from Sicily to Genoa according to Cruise Mapper.

The Coast Guard said that the passenger was delivered to Ospedale Antonio Cardarelli hospital in Naples and was conscious and in “reasonable” health.

You can also watch the Coast Guard descend from the helicopter and land on the cruise ship.
