Ellen DeGeneres buys back California ranch for nearly double

Disgraced talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Porta de Rossi have bought back a ranch in California that they flipped just three years ago.

The pair spent millions securing the ranch and bought it back for $18.4 million, which is almost double what they paid for it three years ago (originally bought for $7.2 million).

Rancho San Leadro, the property bought by Ellen, is nearly 2.5 hectares large with fantastic views of the Pacific Ocean as well as the Santa Ynez Mountains.

The home on the ranch has around 630 square metres of living space, spread across multiple dwellings as well as a stable and tack room that overlook paddocks and a fenced dressage arena.

The original ranch home was built in the mid-1800s and has one large main bedroom suite, a kitchen, a large open plan living and dining area, fireplaces at the end of each room, a wine cellar and a games room.

There is a separate guest wing that offers another three bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a living room and an outdoor terrace with a fireplace and dining area.

There is also a formal library, exercise studio and a three-car garage adjacent to the guest wing.
