William and Kate release official Christmas photo

William and Kate have released a new family photo to mark the first Christmas since the arrival of Princess Charlotte.

The pictures shows the royal couple posing in their garden at Kensington Palace with six-month-old Charlotte and her brother, George.

The photograph was taken in late October and was meant for personal use, but the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have decided to release it to the public because they liked it so much.

It’s the first time the family have released a photo at Christmas and the second official portrait of the family of four.

The release of the photo has coincided with the announcement that George will start nursery at the end of January. He will be attending the modestly-priced, Montessori school in Norfolk, a much cheaper option than similar London schools.

The school, just a few minutes’ drive from Anmer Hall, William and Kate’s country home, is also situated on a private road, which the couple hope will help George enjoy time away from the spotlight.
