Mike Tindall pours his heart out about Zara’s miscarriage for first time
Less than six months ago, Zara and Mike Tindall made the heartbreaking announcement that they had lost their second child about four months into the pregnancy. Now, for the first time since the tragedy, Mike has spoken candidly to the Sunday Times, opening up about what got them through this difficult time.
“One thing you do learn is how many other people have had to go through the same,” he revealed. “The saving grace for us has been Mia, our daughter who is now three. However down we feel she will come running up in our faces.
“When I was playing I hardly saw her; now we can see her grow up,” the 38-year-old former rugby player said. “I can take her swimming and I can take her to Ninja Tots. You’ll never be able to see her there because she disappears in a puff of smoke.”
A royal spokesperson broke the sad news on Christmas Eve last year. “Very sadly, Zara and Mike Tindall have lost their baby. At this difficult time, we ask that everyone respects their privacy.”
