How Princess Mary will be celebrating Christmas

It’s no secret that the Tasmanian turned Danish Royal has experienced Christmas in every season. Whether it’s Australia’s scorching hot summer or Europe’s minus temperatures.

And this year, with all that experience under her belt, the Princess has decided to go all out with her Christmas decorations at the Danish palace.

Taking to social media, the Danish royals’ official Instagram account shared a snap of the family’s extravagant tree, covered in multiple baubles and ornaments with the top nearly touching the high ceiling.

The family chose to not wrap their tree with fairy lights, choosing to use candles instead. Whether or not that’s a fire hazard, we don’t know, but the Danish royals tend to light the wicks after dinner as a tradition on Christmas Eve.

The photo came complete with the caption: “Christmas party in the Knights Hall in Frederik VIII’s Palace, Amalienborg, here on the third Sunday in advent.”

Other elements of décor included pine cones and golden baubles carefully placed on top of a marble table.

Last Christmas, the Crown Prince and Princess celebrated Down Under where they enjoyed the warm weather and played soccer at Palm Beach in New South Wales.

But this Christmas, we’re sure they’ll be covered up in a lot more layers as Denmark is sure to bring a colder front this holiday season!
