Great white shark leaps out of water, leaving fishermen stunned

A few fishermen got a shock when a great white shark broke out of the water whilst they were filming.

According to experts, the four-meter long shark could have jumped as a result of being chased by another shark.

The video, taken in Port Augusta, north of Adelaide, shows the shark completely emerging from the water.

In the past, fishermen in the area have reported similar sightings, but it was considered a fishermen’s myth until now.

"I was just chasing kingfish there and just, sort of, dropped the baits down and looked up and there he was,” shared the astonished Mr. Pittaway.

Experts have verified the footage as authentic, and explain the unusual near-shore breach as the possible result of a scare from another, possibly larger shark.
