Duchess Meghan's dream royal role given by the Queen
The Duchess of Sussex has reportedly just been given her very fitting first role by the Queen – patron of the National Theatre, according to The Mail.
For the Hollywood starlet starring on the US legal drama Suits for seven years and studying acting at the Northwestern University, the role makes for a perfect fit.
Reportedly the Queen’s decision was an easy one, with the role being given to the mother-to-be as a symbol of her growing confidence towards her.
A meeting was believed to have been held last month with the National Theatre’s organisation director, Rufus Norris. Reports say a discussion about the Duchess’ new role took place.
Norris's upcoming play is an adaption of Andrea Levy’s award-winning novel Small Island.
The story traces the evolution of four characters as their lives transform during World War ll by moving from Jamaica to London.
Among several themes, racism and interracial relationships are divulged into.
Part of the role the Duchess will be involved with is the American Associates of the National Theatre, which is a charity that contributes more than 3 million pounds a year to support the New-York based organisation’s work.
An official announcement is due within the coming weeks.
