Did Serena Williams just accidentally reveal the gender of the royal baby?
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been notoriously tight-lipped about the details of their upcoming child.
But Duchess Meghan’s long-time friend and tennis legend Serena Williams may have accidentally revealed the gender of their baby during an interview with E!.
The 37-year-old is close friends with the Duchess, even hosting a lavish baby shower during her visit to New York.
Speaking to E!, the 23-time grand slam champion was discussing parenting advice when she gave an example of a pregnant friend of hers.
“My friend is pregnant, and she’s like, ‘My kid’s gonna do this,’ [and] I just looked at her like and I was like ‘No, she’s not’ and ‘No, you’re not’,” she said.
“She started laughing and was like, ‘I need to talk to you about tips,’ because, yes, I had all of those high expectations and I had what I was going to do.
“This is a time where everything is not going to go as planned. You’ve just got to go with the flow.”
The revelation was the start of a social media frenzy as fans speculated whether the friend in question was the Duchess.
“Did Serena Williams just accidentally reveal the sex of Meghan Markle’s baby?” asked one Twitter user.
And while Serena could have been talking about another pregnant friend of hers, many are holding onto the hope that it was Meghan she was referring to.
