Buckingham Palace in “turmoil” as Queen’s staff quit

It may seem like the perfect job but Buckingham Palace staff are walking out in droves, according to The Sun.

At least 14 chefs, kitchen staff and porters have handed in their notice as they’re not happy with the working conditions.

“The place is in turmoil and the mood is getting steadily worse,” a royal insider said.

Staff have reportedly complained about lack of time off and the expectations they will work at several royal residencies for the same pay.

Staff frequently have to travel between Windsor Castle, the Queen’s residence, and Buckingham Palace, where functions are held.

Furthermore, the staff not only have to cater to Queen’s request but also that of Prince Charles and Camilla, and Prince William and Kate.

“People work all hours God sends for no extra pay,” the insider said. "Nobody gets any time off or sees their families. It’s too much.”

“They've concluded it's not worth it any more. At least seven chefs have quit, plus other members of staff. Some are very experienced and won't be easy to replace.”
