Woman, 83, locked in toilet for six days

A woman has been found after she was locked in her cramped toilet for six days.

The police rescued the woman, where she was found alive but in very weak health at her home in Dinan, a town in north-western France’s Brittany  region.

The 83-year-old was unable to make any distress calls or signals from the room she was held prisoner in.

However, thankfully the woman’s niece alerted police after she had not heard from her after a few days.

A team of officers rushed her to the hospital and miraculously found the woman to be alive despite being severely malnourished and unwell.

Law enforcement made an announcement via social media they had found the senior woman trapped in her home’s toilet.

She had been stuck in there for six days, waiting for someone to come rescue her.

Police said she is thankfully in recovery after being in a room which was “cramped”.

It is unclear whether the toilet was fitted with a sink and how she managed to stay  alive.

The 83-year-old was in such a weakened state, firemen were called to carry her out of the building.

She is now recovering from the horrific ordeal.

The police said their intervention had been “providence”.
