UK family welcomes its 20th child
Sibling rivalries are bad enough when there’s just two of you – so imagine what it’s like to have 19 brothers and sisters! That’s the reality for the Radfords, the largest family in the UK, who have just welcomed their 20th child – Archie Rowan Radford.
The four-day-old joins Chris, 28, Sophie, 23, Chloe, 22, Jack, 20, Daniel, 18, Luke and Millie 16, Katie, 14, James, 13, Ellie, 12, Aimee, 11, Josh, 10, Max, eight, Tillie, seven, Oscar, five, Casper, four, Hallie, two, and 13-month-old Phoebe.
For parents Sue and Noel, however, 20 is the magic number. “We’re happy to be finishing on a nice even number,” 42-year-old Sue, who already has three grandchildren, told The Sun. “It’s strange knowing you’re not going to have any more.”
Noel, 46, agreed, saying it was “sad in a way,” but they were excited to “get on and enjoy the kids”. The dad-of-20 had gotten a vasectomy after baby number nine, but the couple reversed it after deciding to further grow their family.
Sue and Noel met as children, having grown up in the same neighbourhood, and when Sue fell pregnant at the age of 14, they decided to keep the baby. By the time she was 17, they had moved in together and were married.
“We’re addicted to having all these kids,” Noel said. “We just love it.”
