Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness’ surprising marriage secret

Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness have explained how they have maintained their love for each other through their 21-year marriage.

The Aussie couple spoke to PEOPLE at the National Night of Laughter and Song event presented by the David Lynch Foundation at the John F Kennedy Center in DC where they revealed the weekly activity they do to reflect on their love.

“Meditation!” Jackman revealed.

"We meditate together,” Furness added. “And sometimes we have friends over to do it, too. It’s a lovely Sunday morning thing. Everyone comes over, and then we have breakfast.”

The duo met in 1995 on the set of Australian drama Corelli and now have two kids together, 15-year-old Oscar and 10-year-old Ava.

They couple also explained that they keep their romance alive by always enjoying each other’s humour.

Jackman also added, “And always listen to the wife.”

The couple celebrated their 21st anniversary in April and Jackman posted a short tribute to his wife in honour of the occasion.

Alongside a tennis photo the star wrote, “To the love of my life. 21 glorious years. I love you with all my heart.”

Last year on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Jackman said of his marriage, “It gets better and better, I can honestly say that. She’s the greatest thing that ever happened to me. I’m kind of really grateful that I met her before anything kind of happened. Everything that’s happened in my career and onscreen, offscreen, we’ve always done it together.”
