As author Lois Wyse says, “If I had known how wonderful it would be to have grandchildren, I’d have had them first.” While parenting can be a lot of thankless work, grandparenting is all about the perks and spoils.

After decades together, you know your partner inside out. It’s an intimate and deeply comforting knowledge that can only come with time.

You both know now not to argue over the small issues that aren’t important to the overall happiness of the relationships. There’s so many more important things to do and enjoy than fight and argue needlessly.
