Meghan Markle's sweet wedding tribute to Princess Diana

With the absence of Princess Diana strongly felt in the lead up to the royal wedding, Meghan Markle will reportedly honour her late mother-in-law through her wedding flowers.

Last week, Kensington Palace revealed that London-based floral designer Philippa Craddock would be creating the arrangement for the May 19 wedding.

The royal couple have selected white garden roses, peonies and foxgloves as the key flowers to decorate their wedding, accompanied by branches of seasonal plants.

The Sun revealed that the selection of white garden roses is a tribute to Princess Diana, who was fond of the flower.

After Diana’s death in 1997, the mulch created from millions of floral tributes left at the gates of Kensington Palace were used to plant the White Garden.

Last November, Harry and Meghan held their engagement photo shoot in the same garden.

The white rose also symbolises the late Princess of Wales as both are characterised by “purity, virtue, innocence and sincerity”, reported ELLE.

Prince Harry previously revealed that he believes Meghan and Diana would’ve been close.

"I think they'd be thick as thieves, without question," he told the BBC during his first joint interview with Markle after the announcement of their engagement.

"I think she would be over the moon, jumping up and down, so excited for me.

"It is days like today when I really miss having her around and miss being able to share the happy news, but ... I'm sure she's with us.”
