6 hacks to saving your home from clutter

Good organisation will allow you to utilise the space in your home and make it easier for you to maintain a clean environment. Follow these tips to save your home from clutter.

1. Throw out old items

Clutter slows you down when cleaning your home and let’s face it, over the years it is easy for unnecessary items to accumulate in your house. Start with the items you have double ups of and then move to the items that you never touch.

2. Give things a home

The easiest way to give items a home is to store them in the location where they are frequently used. Store similar items in the same location and move the items you never use into a storeroom or garage.

3. Sort through paperwork daily

Unfortunately, paperwork can dramatically build up if it is left alone. To manage your family’s paperwork, assign each person a folder or drawer. This will also help you if you ever need to quickly find something.

4. Make sure things return to their place

Try to be meticulous with keeping items in the room they are meant to be in so nothing gets lost or messed up.

5. Be inventive

Be creative with how you want to store the items in your home that don’t have a specific home. You can find DIY solutions that will not only save you money but make for a fun craft activity.

6. Find storage solutions

There are plenty of storage solutions available at shops but don’t let this tempt you from not throwing out the items you hoard.
