10 signs your pet is sick

Unfortunately our furry friends can’t speak to us and therefore can’t tell us if something is wrong. So, as a loving pet owner it’s up to you to look for the subtle signs that your pet may have an illness or disease. Here are the top 10 signs to look out for:

  1. Oral issues such as bad breath or drooling
  2. Excessive drinking or urination
  3. Changes in appetite such as weight loss or gain
  4. Change in activity level (for example, lack of interest in doing things they once did)
  5. Stiffness, limping or difficulty in rising
  6. Changes in normal behaviour and attitude (for example, sleeping more than normal)
  7. Coughing, sneezing, excessive panting, or laboured breathing, especially when your pet hasn’t been active
  8. Dry or itchy skin, sores, lumps, bumps, or shaking of the head
  9. Frequent digestive upsets or change in bowel movements
  10. Dry, red, or cloudy eyes

If you four-legged friend has any of these symptoms, you should contact your veterinarian immediately.
