Prince William just let slip a big hint about the new royal baby

An off-the-cuff remark by Prince William has whipped the world into a frenzy after he suggested the new royal baby could be here sooner than we expected.

Kensington Palace announced earlier this month the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were expecting their third child. Many had guessed the couple had waited until the second trimester to announce the news, meaning the baby would be born sometime in April 2018.

However, Prince William's comments this week might suggest otherwise.

During a visit to the Spitalfields Crypt Trust, a charity that supports the homeless, Prince William talked about the newest addition to the royal family.

He told a midwife, “All the best with the midwifery, I may see you sooner than you think.”

The prince had previously said he would not celebrate until Kate passed the first flushes of severe morning sickness, having been diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum for the third time.

But last week, he said: “It was a bit anxious to start with but [we can] start celebrating this week."

It suggests that Kate is now three months along, which means the baby will be due in March 2018.

The little Prince or Princess will be a sibling for George, four, and Charlotte, two, and will be fifth in line to the British throne.
