Prince William and Kate Middleton contemplate a big move
Prince William and Kate Middleton are reportedly "seriously considering" relocating their family to Windsor full time.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their three children Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, six and Prince Louis, three, currently split their time between Norfolk and Kensington Palace in London.
Their residence in Norfolk, known as Anmer Hall, was a wedding gift from the Queen and is located on the royal family's Sandringham Estate.
The family are contemplating the move to Windsor to further support the Queen and have everyone in one place.
The royal children attend school in London, and travelling back and forth to Norfolk has become increasingly difficult.
"Anmer Hall made sense while William was a helicopter pilot in East Anglia and it was useful for Christmases at Sandringham, but it doesn't really work any more," a royal insider said to the Mail on Sunday.
"It's a little too far away for weekends, but Windsor is a perfect compromise. They are eyeing up options in the area."
Queen Elizabeth has spend the majority of the last two years at Windsor Castle to allow for less staff during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Her Majesty has worked out of Buckingham Palace when needed, but hasn't stayed at the residence for a number of months.
William and Kate are said to be exploring accommodation options in Windsor.
Following the resignation of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle form the monarchy, Prince Charles has been keen to streamline the family going forward, with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles and Prince William leading the charge.
Prince Edward, Sophie Wessex and Princess Anne have all continued their duties for the monarchy and attended a number of events since the pandemic began in 2020.
