Meryl Streep steals the red carpet in unique and bold gown

Hollywood heavyweight Meryl Streep looked to be in high spirits when she gracefully made her way down the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival in Italy on Sunday.

The 70-year-old actress had on a stylish, long-sleeved, dress with a multi-coloured floral print embroidered into the all over the gorgeous blue fabric.

Not one to shy away from a bold and pronounced statement, Streep also added a pair of red heels and a sleek pair of sunglasses.

The Oscar winner was all smiles for the camera, and waved to the crowd in the monochrome Givenchy frock which featured a saucy asymmetric hem, high neck style and a warm, friendly colour palette.

She appeared alongside co-stars and director of her next upcoming project, The Laundromat.

The film goes into the intricate details of the highly controversial Panama Papers - leaked documents from 2016 which show how a Panamanian law firm laundered money for the elite wealthy.

This is not her only rodeo however as a veteran actress and over 50 years in the industry - meaning the stunning 70-year-old has had a number of headline-worthy looks showed off on the red carpet.
