Queen makes first in-person public appearance
The Queen has been captured beaming at a royal fan as she arrived in Manchester for a day of official events.
After conducting much of her business online from Windsor Castle during the pandemic, Her Majesty is clearly enjoying being able to see the public and carry out royal duties in person.
In the clip, the Queen can be seen arriving at Victoria Station in Manchester.
“You okay? Coming home, Lizzy!” he can be heard saying in the video shared to Twitter.
“God save our queen. It’s coming home,” he captioned the video, in an apparent reference to England’s victory in the Euro semi-final against Denmark.
The Queen then visited the set of Coronation Street as the show celebrates 60 years of being on the air.
In her first visit to the show since she dropped by in 1982, the Queen toured the set and studios and met members of the cast and crew.

Prince Charles has also visited the set.
The Queen spoke with actor Bill Roache, who plays Ken Barlow, telling him “It’s really marvelous you’ve been able to carry on” filming during the pandemic.
“Well, ma’am, you’re the one who has carried on,” he replied.
After visiting the set, the Queen went to Manchester Cathedral to meet community representatives who have supported people affected by the pandemic.
The Queen helped unveil a plaque commemorating both the visit and the 600th anniversary of the Collegiate Church of Manchester, which became a cathedral in 1847.
