"I can't move": Queen's first visit since COVID scare

At her first in-person engagement since Buckingham Palace's Covid-19 scare, Queen Elizabeth has made a startling admission.

The Queen met with both the outgoing and incoming Defence Services Secretaries at Windsor Castle, when she quipped with Palace staff that she "couldn't move" very well.

"Oh, I am here," the Queen, supporting herself with a stick, chuckled as the two secretaries entered her room, according to a video of the meeting.

When asked how she was, the Queen responded, "Well, as you can see, I can't move." She gestured to her feet before shuffling forward slightly and greeting the pair with a handshake.

A source at the Palace said Queen Elizabeth had just been feeling stiff and feeling the effects of ageing, rather than having injured herself or being unwell.

Despite her physical limitations, the Queen entertained her guests with a smile, just one day after she was pictured holding a virtual audience with the new ambassadors of Estonia and Spain via video link.

The Queen's health has been top priority for royal staff over the last week, after Prince Charles and Camilla both returned positive Covid tests just days after seeing Her Majesty in person.

At the time of Prince Charles' positive diagnosis, the palace said Her Majesty is currently "not displaying any symptoms" but would continue to be monitored.
