De Niro's daughter reveals her son's cause of death

Robert De Niro’s daughter claims that her son Leandro passed away after a tragic drug accident where he allegedly took pills laced with fentanyl.

“Someone sold him fentanyl laced pills that they knew were laced yet still sold them to him,” Drena wrote in response to a comment asking how Leandro passed away.

“For all these people still f***ing around selling and buying this s**t, my son is gone forever,” she added.

Fentanyl is a potent synthetic opioid drug that is approved by the Food and Drug Administration for pain relief and an anaesthetic, but it is also more potent than heroin and morphine as a painkiller.

“Just two milligrams of fentanyl, the small amount that fits on the tip of a pencil, is considered a potentially deadly dose,” the Drug Enforcement Administration states.

Drena announced her only child’s passing on Sunday and has since been sharing updates of her grief on Instagram.

“My darling we celebrate you today and always,” she wrote in a recent Instagram post with a photo of a young Leandro.

“Thank you to everyone for the help, prayers and loving energy that is pulling us through this devastating time. Julie thank you for this beautiful photo of Leo ♥️” she added.

Robert also shared how “deeply distressed” he was over his beloved grandson’s passing and had asked for privacy to grieve their loss of Leandro.
