Alzheimer’s is not a normal part of ageing

For many people, it can seem almost inevitable that at least one person they know – if not themselves – will be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. However, as scientist Samuel Cohen explains, we need to stop thinking of this tragic illness as a natural part of ageing. “Alzheimer's is a disease,” he says, “and we can cure it.”

In this fascinating TED Talk, Cohen, whose research focuses on Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative disorders, shares an exciting breakthrough giving hope to the over 40 million people around the world currently suffering the disease.

Tell us in the comments below, do you believe a cure for Alzheimer’s could be discovered in your lifetime?
