The touching moment Queensland paramedics grant patient's dying wish

A pair of Queensland paramedics made a detour to the beach for a palliative care patient who wanted to see the ocean once more.

The patient was being transported to the palliative care unit of a local hospital when she mentioned her desire to see the beach.

The paramedics decided to take a detour to the hospital to make their patient’s wish come true.

They propped up the patient in the stretcher so she could see the ocean stretching out from Hervey Bay.

"Tears were shed and the patient felt very happy," Queensland Ambulance said in a Facebook post.

"Sometimes it is not the drugs/training/skills – sometimes all you need is empathy to make a difference."
