Nicole Kidman embraces turning 50
Nicole Kidman turns 50 on June 20 and she is not feeling insecure or negative about it at all. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Oscar-winning actress explained that she’s looking forward to reaching this milestone.
"I'm absolutely embracing it," she said at the Los Angeles premiere of her new drama, The Beguiled.
"I try to embrace all parts of my life now because I think you just go, 'Wow. [I'm] so lucky, so blessed.'"
The film was well-received at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and it follows Nicole’s recent critically-acclaimed performance in Big Little Lies.
After a busy year, Nicole is looking forward to spending her birthday with her mum, Janelle, in Australia.
"[I'm] making an effort to go back and see my mom in Australia and spend time [with her]," she explained. "I've got the whole summer off, so I'm just kind of relaxing."
Earlier this month, Nicole was in Sydney visiting her mum before she went to the US to support husband Keith Urban at the 2017 Country Music Awards. The couple had an exciting night with Keith taking home four awards.
Nicole shared with ET, “It was great the other night with Keith, when he won all those awards. Just watching him, having put so much work into what he does, and him receiving those accolades from the fans, that was amazing.”
In the future, Nicole is hoping to collaborate on even more female-driven projects.
"I've managed to do two now! I did Big Little Lies and then Beguiled in a row.”
In Big Little Lies, Nicole starred alongside Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern and Zoe Kravitz.
"[It's] so fantastic! I loved it!" Nicole said. "Bring it on, give me more girls, more women!"
