Employee-less self-driving supermarkets are here

The team behind the world’s first employee-less supermarket, has created a 24-hour self-driving convenience store designed to come directly to shoppers.

The solar-powered prototype, which you can see in the video below, is summoned with a touch of your smartphone and drives directly to your door.

It looks like something out of a sci-fi movie, and with supermarkets increasingly looking for ways to cut down on labour costs it does raise some interesting moral dilemmas.

What’s your take? Would you appreciate the convenience of a supermarket that came straight to you, or do you prefer traditional brick and mortar outlets?
