Woman caught taking Christmas gifts from Robert De Niro's home
A thief has been caught red-handed stealing Christmas gifts from Robert De Niro’s home.
Shanice Aviles was discovered inside the building, using De Niro's iPad and stealing presents from under his tree after making her way into his townhouse on the Upper East Side around 2:30am on December 19.
Local police were already keeping an eye on the 30-yeaer-old who is known to be a serial burglar with more than 25 arrests.
She eventually led them to the actor’s home where she was arrested with charges pending.
“She was stealing Christmas presents,” a police official said.
Sources say that De Niro was upstairs in one of the rooms and his daughter was in her bedroom.
It has been revealed that Aviles first started stealing during the pandemic and this year alone was caught 16 times.
De Niro refused to comment about the burglary.
“We are not making any statements at this time about the robbery at the temporary rental home of Robert De Niro,” Media Strategies Representation Consulting said in an email to The Post.
