Has the Queen finally watched “The Crown”?

Last week, we reported that Princess Eugenie had revealed herself to be a fan of Netflix’s royal drama series The Crown, explaining she felt “very proud” watching it. Now, it seems, the rest of the family is warming to the Netflix program, too – namely, its main subject, The Queen.

A senior royal insider revealed to Express that Her Majesty was encouraged to watch the series by her son and daughter-in-law, the Earl and Countess of Wessex. “Edward and Sophie love The Crown,” the source explained.

“It has been a longstanding arrangement that they drive to Windsor at the weekend to join the Queen for an informal supper while watching TV or a film. They have a Netflix account and urged her to watch it with them.

“Happily, she really liked it, although obviously there were some depictions of events that she found too heavily dramatised.”

Zara and Mike Tindall also count themselves among the show’s fans, praising the performance of Claire Foy (The Queen) in particular. “She’s brilliant, the one who plays the Queen,” Mike said, confessing the couple are “addicted”. “I think it’s a great show in terms of how they delivered it.”

Tell us in the comments below, have you watched The Crown yet? What did you think of it?
