The 10 best and worst TV finale episodes
While the memory of that awful How I Met Your Mother ending is probably still burning in your mind, one dedicated TV viewer has established an official list of the best and worst TV finales ever.
Imgur user MailPostman collected data from the web database IMDB to work out the average episode rating of a number of popular TV shows and compare them to the rating of their finales.
While not exhaustive, the list includes a number of surprising finds: the largely disappointing Glee had the best-rated finale compared to its overall episode rating, while Dexter, a drama starring Michael C Hall as a Miami serial killer, suffered the biggest ratings drop. It fell from an average episode score of just under eight, to just under five.
Breaking Bad, Six Feet Under and the US version of The Office topped the list for best-rated finale episodes, while the worst-rated overall ending was Two and a Half Men.
