The most recent iOS update of your iPhone features a simple hack that could save your life.
If you ever find yourself in an unsafe situation and need to discreetly call the police, all you need to do is press the iPhone lock button (on the right-hand-side) quickly five times.
Once you slide the Emergency SOS bar to the right, your phone will immediately dial 000 and connect you with the emergency operator.
Even if your phone is out of service, when dialling emergency services your call will be connected.
In a written statement, an Apple spokesman said: 'With Emergency SOS in iOS 11, you can quickly and easily call for help and alert your emergency contacts.
'When you make a call with SOS, your iPhone automatically calls the local emergency number.
'In some countries and regions, you might need to choose the service that you need.'
